Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Issue in Starcom Menus – Need Help!
I have a new Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller and bought this game today. But as soon as I get to the main menu, I have the first problem.
I can use the stick to go down in the menu, but as soon as I release the stick, the selection bar goes back up as if I'm constantly pressing up.
Unfortunately, I have this everywhere in the menus and can't adjust anything.

I have recalibrated my gamepad with the Xbox accessory, but the problem still persists.

Since I've only had the controller for 2 days and haven't played with it yet, I don't think it's stick drift either.
I thought it might be my joysticks or my 3DConnection Enterprise, but that's not the case either as I unplugged them all from the USB and tried again.
When I then tried two other games, it worked without any problems, but as soon as I tried Starcom again, the problem reappeared.

How can I solve the problem? And no, I don't want to unplug it because I want to play with my controller. After all, that's what I bought it for, to be able to play games like this comfortably with the controller.

Hi, thanks for the bug report. I'm afraid I don't have any insight on this issue right now (I don't have that controller to test with, just an Xbox One) but I'll note it for investigation. Let me know if you uncover any other information.

Did you enable steam overlay and steam input and then check in steam settings (the overall one, not specifically for the game) your deadzone?

My dualsense for example works fine through steam input.

Though do not use any controller natively, the game has 0 deadzone, so any slight movement (or just signal error) from you sticks will trigger the game controls.

look, 0 input without doing anything

When I remove the controller, it works... as soon I connect it again, I get the same problem again.l

I asked are you using native or steam input (steam input works only with overlay also enabled).
If you're using native, you are not using any deadzones, the game does not have deadzone options for the controller.

If you're using steam input and get that issue, you have to then increase your deadzones, or get a new controller.

If you still don't understand why.
I'm telling that the game is detecting your controller left stick input, I gave you the solutions for that.

I've been looking for a solution the whole time, but unfortunately I haven't found anything yet to solve the problem. I even disconnected everything else so that only the keyboard, mouse and my controller were connected, but the same problem occurred.
I disconnected the controller and it worked. I went through the Steam calibration and also the Xbox calibration, where the stick is in the 0 position according to my own test, but it always had the same result. :steamsad:

Are you using steam input or have you disabled steam input for the game?
What does it show for the game in controller config in the library for the game?

Just telling you have a problem doesn't help anybody.

If you have a deadzone issue only with this game, then increase the deadzone specifically for the game.

I have activated it now and then same problem.

Steam input for Xbox controller activated

Go to Library, click the controller icon or go through the properties.
Click Edit Layout.
Then Joysticks.
Then Left Joystick behavior gear icon.
Then go to Dead Zones.
Then select your dead zone source, it is using none by default.
Make a custom one for this game.
There is a chance you have double input.
Go to steam settings.
Controller
External Gamapad settings.
Unselect controller types that you don't use, like playstation, switch pro and generic.

since I have activated the Steam Input, my controller doesn't react in the game, but still it goes upwards in the menu.

I made what you said with the deadzone, but I can't test it in the steamsettings too, because no input anymore. I don't know what got wrong now.

Replug your controller.

Though if it isn't detecting your controller, how the heck is it moving around then?

OK another thing you can try.
Steam Settings
Controller
Non-Game Controllers Layouts
Desktop Layout
Edit
Select disable steam input, maybe that is being detected aka you're simulating keyboard and mouse with your controller.

I had issues with that one time, so I disabled it a long time ago. No idea why it was enabled by default, dunno if it is enabled for you.

That is if you disabled the other 3 controller types before, or if they were already disabled, as that caused double input for some other person with their controller.

Also specifically for the game or any steam game do steam input disabling and enabling only when the game is closed, otherwise the native still works.
