Another game to compare to if people are wondering: Combat is like SPAZ, but with more customization for the ships.
Hopefully a Starcom 3 would improve on that front.
I dont really fancy the 2d arcade battles though, its just tedious. Wish the game has good ai modules that could handle it for you in a enough good way that it acually doesnt matter if you fly on ai or not. Speaking of SC2 ofcourse.
Worth their money! And I loved Starflight back then too. It is closer to Starflight from the more scientific game feeling... though the combat is (for me) similarly funny as it was in Star Control 2.
And I really like the self-design of ships.... apart from make them efficient... I liked to give them forms reminiscient to famous ships in sci-fi-series - I built me a 2D-Battlestar.
