Not sure what to do next...
On my second play though, i'm on very hard mode and i'm at the point where I can go through the wormhole and finish the game.

However, I am not able to kill the Sepharials and investigate the central planet, and I can't do anything with the planet to the north west of that area.

I still need to find a 2nd polyhedral artifact for "The Talonian's Task", it's not where one of the posts says it is.

But aside from that, I still have some achievements outstanding and i'm not sure how to get them given that i'm explored the entire system as best as I can tell.

I've got full Plasma, Reactors, Fixed Guns (apart from Mag Alignment), Fighter Drones (apart from Heavy Fighters), Lasers, and Shields. I've been playing with various setups, and although a couple of them can kill the Sepharials, it's super slow and if they get some good hits on me, I died pretty quickly.

I've dried full drone, full laser, full plasma, mixes of different setups, but I just can't kill them efficiently enough that they don't spawn more before i'm able to work on one of their stations. I did manage to kill 2 or 3 of their stations, but the smaller one that's guarding the planet just repairs itself and I don't know what i'm supposed to do about that.

I'm assuming that i'm missing some achievement/buff from somewhere that will let me win, or I have to respec my crew in some way to be able to do it.

I've tried a setup with almost 1000 shield, one with 3000 armor/hull (I like this one), and close to 400 dps (without fixed cannons).

But it's just not enough.

Any pointers? Or am I done?

For Sepharials:
Option 1: dispose of the station so you can land. Guns didn't work for me, but you can shove it away from the planet and perhaps into the star either by ramming, with shield preferably, or with the gravity gun.
Option 2: the Guild envoy in the system next to the Sepharial system offers you to snatch the artifact for 200 iridium
Hint for option 3: in one of the Kyrnan systems not far from the Sepharial system, there's a planet anomaly with a crash-landed Ermyr ship with a crude yellow paintjob the pilot of which was uncharacteristically interested in color theory who was trying to do something in the Sepharial space but failed; related to that, there are multiple comments made by your crewmates and those who know about Sepharials about how they are so arrogant that they judge everyone by their looks, and how that makes them blind to the truth. If you paint your ship like one of the guild ships, the Sepharials will confuse you for the guild envoy and will let you land no problem. If the guild envoy starts talking about how you're infringing on their trademark, you're safe to proceed.
For the artificial planetoid, you need to collect three or four glyph spheres until they combine into chromatic sphere glyph. They most commonly drop from asteroids in the Refinery Traders system, the one with three asteroid fields and overpriced trade hub. If you have sold some of the spheres to the guild, you can buy them back. Some Steam users report that they bought back the already combined sphere from the guild, so that might be the case for you as well.

Having an issue with the planet still.

I have 0 spheres, the Guild Trader has 0 spheres. I know that I collected some of them, so I imagine I either sold them or the combined item to the Guild Trader.

When I go to the planet, there's nothing I can do, just leave and come back later.

What's the actual name of all of the combined sphere? I don't have anything that's Chromatic.
Wondering if I have to edit my save file to get them to come back or something.

Also, still can't find the polyhedral artifact, and i've checked against everyone elses posted maps. I have every warp gate/star discovered, more so than all of the screenshots i've found. It's gotta be here somewhere right?

Looking in my logs for exotic particles only brings up 1 result too, and it's not useful at all as it's a discussion on the Calaeno.

Edit: Just after posting I found the artifact... My timing is great.

Update regarding Chromatic Glyphs: it doesn't seem to be a combination of previous spheres, but rather a new artifact in addition to the previous three spheres. It is sold by the Guild, the trigger for it appearing in stock seems to be picking a side in Kyrnan-Nimion war

Interesting, i've already picked a side, but I don't think that mission has come to an end yet... that could be it.

I think I sold my Glyph Spheres to the Guild, and a lot more besides those. So many items I have sold, it appears the buy-back stock is limited. So it seems to be possible that you can sell them so may items such that some are lost forever.

Have you completed the Gentle Gas Giant Anomaly?

"In the Shadow of the Burning Moon"

in other words, trace a path from the Star to the Burning Moon (the small hot world next to the Gentle Gas Giants planet) and keep going outwards (the shadow)

This points the way.
