Very Good Premade Ship Types
Hello,

im a big fan of the Workshop from Steam.
But as far as i can tell the Pre Made Models in the Game are allways a bit better then the ones in the Workshop. Plus often Workshop Builds needs more then two Weapon Types and i Focus on two Weapon Types (Fixed Guns and Plasma will Later Test Lasers). So i must often learn Technologies i dont wish to learn even when i choose a Build that Focus on two Weapon Types. Most the Players adds a low Tech third Weapons for Reasons only this Players know.

Here a Suggestion for the Developer. Allow us to load a Blueprint in the Shipyard and change it. Atm its only possible to load a Blueprint if we have all Technologies needed to Build the Ship. So i cant e.g. load a Blueprint that needs Laser Technologie I. I would load the BP remove the Laser add a different Weapon and leave the Shipyard.

Yes, the Ships in the Workshops looks realy cool and are maybe more energy Balanced?

Workshop ships are mainly for aesthetics honestly. Most of them are built with maxed out resources and not really for efficiency.

Ok, i thought maybe the opposite when you read the descriptions and creators say i could add one more gun but that ruin the energy effizienzy.

Yesssssssssss I want to load the workshop ships as a... blueprint, and then change things as I need to. Some ships are designed to use guns that I don't care to use OR research, and I can never use those blueprints without researching those things...

Yes, it would be way more convenient to load blueprints in planning mode.

Perhaps developers afraid it would spoil info about techs. I think, this could be lifted in subsequent runs or made entirely optional.

The game plainly type in red what we are missing from those blueprints.
Its already spoiling us.

It could totaly load them with greyed out our red barred hex, and unability to leave the station whith them still present (as an exemple)

Hell, one of the NPC admit that humanity already knows all those tech. Just that the different physical constants of this universe make difficult straighforward conversion of the physic behind those techs.
Celaano have gravity gun from the beginning.

Are you sure? From my experience premade ships overheat quite often.
+1 vote for allowing saved designs (local or workshop) even if the required techs have not been researched!

That said, my workaround here is loading a design on a saved game that has all tech unlocked, modifying it, then saving it, load saved game where it's to be used, build it. Tedious but it works for now in the absence of an easier way.
