Where is the Void Reaper?

random spawn, much like the rest of the "hard to find" things, have fun going in and out of gravity wells for several hours hoping to find it

Its really easy to miss if you aren't paying attention while auto pilot is engaged and you are exploring the vast space. I wish it would pause the game whenever combat or an item was flown near so you could investigate it. Cause you can fly right by the Reaper and never know it lol

When you fly past stuff it does add a log entry (plus pops on the screen) and if you missed it you can click on the log and it will put a marker on the map where that entry was made.

Secondly some of the random encounters need deep space... I'm not sure exactly how far that is away from any sector but from memory its at least 5 or so.

The approach i did when i was near the end of the game was to add the 4 possible "wings" and get very high void speed and then do the random exploring.

Yea I have every void wing I can stick on my ship. Using a Scout bridge and 5 mk3 engines with a mk2 engine with sensor and landing craft. You want as narrow a ship and light a ship as possible. I cap out at 1405 speed and going through void nebula I am still doing like 215+

I ran in to several of them before I bothered putting voidwings on my ship (killed 2, ran in to at least 5)... haven't seen a single one of them since I equipped them and became much faster... basically, they would spawn when I just picked a direction and went full speed ahead in to the void.

For me the first one (dampener, no ship) was just to the north-west to the starting system (around 3.0 x 7.7). Other two did have ships and were located around (-6.8 x -7.5) and (17.1 x 17.5). Killing first one got me an achievement.

For me it spawned in far eastern part of map. As I understand - you need to find void disruptor in empty space and after that try to stand still (it said reapers don't like moving prey, something like that).

I destroyed that device after encounter. Wow, great, just f great. I guess I wasted 10hours to find out that ♥♥♥♥ can be fail without log entry. This is negative review bruh

I don't think anyone ends up in this forum reading this deep in this thread particularly unless they are ASKING for Spoilers... so I'm not going to black any of this out. I will organize my post in order of "spoilation"

There are MANY "void devices," destroying the void device just means the Reaper warps away. Obviously this is because lots of curious players are going to encounter one without a powerful enough ship to tackle it head-on.

I traveled in one direction until I encountered a wall of "dark nebula" that quickly reduced my void modifier to 0% speed bonus. I navigated alongside at Scanner-distance until I found a thin section and passed through, only reduced down to 50% void. I didn't even need to stack on the engines!

Once I made it through the wall of Dark Nebula, I found WAY more void devices than planets. I had several opportunities to test out tactics before I needed to destroy the void device and get some breathing room. I just wish I could have scavenged more rare materials for a fight of that difficulty!

The reaper had lots of drones that I simply outpaced with my Scout-Class ship w/ 3x Mk2 engines. I'd just skip around to approach from the far-side and blast the Reaper with my fully researched fixed guns

Pick a direction and head to the edge of the map. Best is North/South. Since its easy to get lulled into going AFK on auto-pilot, a Void Reaper ship will appear using a pulse trap that slows you down. They act as a way to deter the player from going to the edge of the map. The void reaper ship will cloak and disappear if you destroy its pulse trap, but they keep appearing every 5-8 minutes you are out in deep space. Its also a great way to farm neutronium by destroying their pulse traps. The trade off is that you have to spend a long time traveling in one direction to trigger their appearance.

Theres more than one. I destroyed the first one i came across, then found another got close and stopped to investigate it and it showed itself and tried to fight me!

I am the point of "okay I killed it and... all it did was close the quest. great jorb!?" And then another plain old void stalker kill later anyways.

But yeah only overtuned thrusters plus cannon range let me chase it down for the kill when it still tried to run like a baby to bust up the engines as I sloooowly crawled after it due to void debuffs (because breaking the machines makes it outright cheat to despawn and all that).

Didn't have much difficulty with him. Headed straight to the north, found the pulse trap, but didn't get too close to it. He appeared, managed to hurt him with cannons before he tried to escape. When he disappeared, I approached the trap and waited a bit. Then headed back to the location where he supposedely was, he appeared and began jumping back and forth but was already burning, so I just finished him.
