How do you tell if an Artifact is "Safe" to sell?

In other words, that it has no more functional use?
Is it as simple "that it can even be sold?" Or are there Artifacts that have a use for some sidequest or other thing that you can mistakenly sell?
if you do, can you buy them back later? or does the Trader inventory reset after a while.

The trends I've noticed in playing are:
- Provided you rigorously analyze every artifact the moment you get it, you should be OK.
- The game logic appears to be set up in such a way that you don't have to 'have' an item necessarily, so much as 'had it and analyzed it at some point'
- Artifacts required for other missions are blocked for sale in the UI (e.g. try to sell the 'Brass Pillar' -- can't even find it in the 'Sell' list)
- Artifacts you sell, you can buy back ; the Guild Trader does not deplete any inventory items to my knowledge ; and
- You may run into a problem if you sell an UN-analyzed artifact to the Guild as it may not appear for buyback. Hence -- don't sell unanalyzed artifacts.
- An artifact which is unanalyzed and sell-eligible should be listed as such (e.g. "Remnant Scroll (unanalyzed)")

So if I'm understanding correctly, as long as you've Analyzed an artifact, you've "extracted what you need from it to complete X event/quest"? Is that what you're saying?

Yes. In fact, the tracking of each 'artifact' in the game is a little rough in places.

e.g.
Sell the Ornate Scepter to the Guild, then to the Ermyr Second Legion
Have the Envoy retrieve the fragment for you, then blast his ship to pieces and try to steal it. Nothing :)

But you're correct. Analyze an artifact and it should confer the benefits needed to advance the given plot / mission / etc. :)

No, but the ones you still need you can't sell so it's a moot point.

You don't need to put them together though, just analyze them. Then it's fine to sell them.

It does tend to say "(Analyzed)" after items you've already analysed - and the "quest objects" for lack of a better term, don't seem to be sellable.

I've not (yet) run into an issue with selling all of the stuff I've analysed.
