They just give you a Mission to kill Nimion ships in another star system, and that's pretty much it. I went into a debris field that had mines in it and blew up Nimion Wrecks, and after a few of them the Mission completed.

No one goes with Kyrnan.

I did in my last two playthroughs. The game never declares either side to be the "good guys," but there are several hints that imply they might be more worthy of your help, their initial manipulation of you notwithstanding.

That's because neither side are really the "good guys" as both have done terrible things to the other. Much like real life that way. I have a hard time forgiving them of the betrayal that I haven't went down the path of picking them. But, from what I've gathered in my play-throughs:

- The Devout have conned both the Nimions and Kyrnans into starting this particular war
- The Devout gave the Nimions a bioweapon to kill Kyrnan planets biospheres

You can discover that the Devout are trying to spark the War between them, and you can even talk to them about this, but they won't do anything without proof.

Surely there must be a way you can get that proof and stop the war - this feels like the Starcom way

In the latest version at least, there is a way to stop the war.
The Guild gives you a mission "New Shipments" which directs to you to the constellation where Pure Hive lives. During this mission, you will stumble upon and get to decode logs from a wrecked Guild ship.
After you do that, go back to Celaeno, and Cdre. Yu will mention that Cmd. Dolson on Aletheia is looking into Devout motives. Talk to her after that, and she'll give you rough coordinates of a downed Devout ship with logs giving you a clue about a certain location important to the Devout. Follow the clue, and you'll discover an interesting celestial object. You wouldn't be able to do anything about it until after you get Chromatic Glyph which you can buy from the Guild if you have progressed far enough into the Kyrnan-Nimion war, and perhaps the other three Glyph Spheres which are dropped from the asteroid fields near that one trade planet with outrageous prices. Analyze all, go back to the anomaly, after that contact either the Kyrnan or the Nimion depending on who you've allied with, and bring ceasefire.

I'm having issue with this, I can't find this "celestial object" (I don't know if I've actually been to it or not...)? I have the glyphs etc I don't know if I'm looking at the correct log either, Devout Derelict? Devout Wreck? Devout debris? Should I be looking in hive space?

The log goes like, "...avoid Flinger which would be a shorter route, as this leads to Sepharia ... worth the risk, even with our new ships ... proceed north three sectors and then west until nebula detected", the best keyword to search for is "Sepharia", the log is called, "EV Investigation: Devout Wreck"

Yep, have that, it's updated in the mission but I don't know which is the starting point... Travel North from where??

Have you encountered the Sepharial? They have a station near a flinger leading to their home system. The log says that there's a short route - fly through the flinger, and perhaps a bit further in the same direction (but if you've tried fighting the Sepharial, you'd know this is not a good idea, though player ships can easily outrun them still); the log recommends taking the longer route and flying around Sepharia - as in, from the system with the flinger leading to Sepharia, fly north three squares, and then west till you see the nebula

I don't believe I have met them. The only result in the log searching for Sepharia is the devout wreck log.

Ive done this, but the Nimion say they need evidence before bringing it before their council. I think I sold the other three orbs, and I dont know if Ive buggered the quest because I cant buy them back. Any ideas of how to find the evidence they want? I tried going back to the thing, but I didnt have the option to interact with it. any ideas?

The chromatic glyph that you can supposedly buy from the Guild is a way for you to translate communication protocols of that that thing and talk to it. The thing would give you some non-answers, and will also transmit you evidence you can use to convince your allied race, Nimion in your case. From what I can see, there are three conditiions for the chromatic glyph sphere to become tradeable in the Guild shop:
  • You have chosen an ally (it appears you have chosen the Nimion)
  • You have analyzed the three spheres that drop from the asteroid filed
  • You have read the databanks of the guild ship you were tracking down in the Pure Hive territory

Ive got the chromatic sphere, and Ive talked to the AI but now I cant interact with it again. It doesnt seem to have transmitted anything for me to show the Nimion. I had the three orbs, and analysed them, but then sold them and cant seem to buy them back. Ive also found the guild ship, and read the data banks, but then I blew it up for scrap. have I screwed up? I dont seem to have any info to give the Nimoin
