Planet survey but no anomalies at 100% dice

Hi there,

I have discovered 2 desert planets, one north west, one south east, where you go down to a planet, and have to do a dice roll for an anomaly scan during a dust storm.

I've gotten the a crew to +9 Astroscience, and hit 108% dice roll, but all I get, is that the ship had to be set down due to the dust, and by the time they cleared the filters, the anomaly was gone.

Get too low dice roll, and you lose resources and a crew member gets injured.

Is the best you can hope for in these missions to just get nothing, as opposed to losing resources?

Some of these are scripted to be nothing. They are just errors in the scanner essentially.

I found that event multiple times. Once like you with nothing to come out of it. And once where i had over 100% sucess on my roll after modifiers and still got the -5 titanium and injury.

As far as I can tell, some anomalies have a set number of outcomes, which can't occur more than once. So if you find the same anomaly multiple times and already rolled all the good results, then on the last one, no matter what you roll you will get the only possible outcome which is the bad one. I think it shouldn't really happen this way, but that's the way it seems to work...

Did you get the Bones from the God from one of them? I ask because that anomaly normally can give them, and once you have them, that desert anomaly doesn't do anything after that. Its like the void exploration thing, where if you visit 2 in the slowdown nebula, after that, any more found does nothing.

Basically its the kind of thing where you only need 2 of them, but 5 spawn somewhere, so you can find them in different places and thus less likely to miss them.

Yeah, makes sense that you have "multiple opportunities" to get the thing you need.

Yeah I've found 2 desert planets that no matter what I do (100+ roll) I still end up flying into a dune and damaging the lander

I have a desert planet D2 pretty much to the Far NE. Survey is always incomplete. You get some resources but it says you can try again after revisiting station OR Advancement... I take it this is always goign to be a permanent resource thing since i have done it 3 times with the same outcome but differant resources (or amount of it).
