For anyone who wants to edit saves / cheat / cheats:
the information is out there for these two things but im gonna compress them into this one post

if you want to edit your save file go to: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\LocalLow\Wx3 Labs, LLC\Starcom Unknown Space\saves

I just use quicksave and edit that file, but i'm an idiot, don't do like me, it'd probably be safer to make a couple of saves, which are titled the same as your ship name.

find playerresource for a list of all of your resources. I find you go through aluminium and titanium more than anything else so i completely ruined the game by giving myself 20000 of each 8)

i found editing maxsize for ship hull didnt work, it auto reverts, i had to edit a 'technologies' file, which is here: \steamapps\common\Starcom Unknown Space\Starcom Unknown Space_Data\StreamingAssets\Content\Kepler\Stories\DEFAULT\Technologies.json

with this file you can find all of the researched upgrades and can edit them

compact construction is the first upgrade, you can edit that to a higher number and it will give your ship more hexes to play with

the other two upgrades for size have logistics in the name. I buffed all of them in my game by 100, 200, then 400, but trying to have a larger ship made my game laggy

setting ship size to about 300 or 400 seems to be the game's maximum, around that, you can experiment, beyond a certain size your ship will cause framerate issues when you turn it, which is unplayable for me, but maybe some can manage. The first ship I made with the new edited limits had 470 and was causing lots of stutter when turning.

ion drive is a speed boost upgrade, ive set mine to 150% and there doesnt seem to be any stability issue from going so fast, yet it does scale up the amount of power your engines need, and i have crashed into a couple of randomly spawning quest objects lol.

i guess you could use it to edit anything you want, be it sensor range, crew max (for faster repairs) or whatever.

you can also keep the game running while editing your saves, just save, edit it, then load and you're good to go, but if you want to change the technologies you need to restart the game for the changes to take effect.

Yeah, the posted speed limit for most situations appears to be around ~ 500 AU/sec. Much more than that and you're 'overdriving your headlights' so to speak.

Just yesterday I was traveling east, flat-out, and realized a fraction of a second too late: there was a Goryr station in front of me. Smashed it into two pieces and the surviving piece was piiiiiissed
