Also, if you don't mind submitting a save game using F8 from before/near the crash I can see what elements are active.
I run older Laptop specs like your Team have already stated that this can cause issues.
In my case these "older laptop specs" are caused by running windows on a macbook pro via bootcamp.
I am very sure that its caused by the "havoc" weapon used by the enemy and my guess is that there is some or too much particle animation going on.
There are other occasions where it crashes and my guess is that its also "as busy" as the Havoc.
I managed to circumvent it in my playthrough by using a lot of long range missiles, so the havoc isnt on my screen.
But again I think its the particle stuff, maybe for now create an option to turn it off
for players that encounter it.
