Stuck? Can't figure out what to do next? I want to hear about it.
In the game's open world universe, the player is free to explore at their own pace and direction. Most of the game's core story line is expected to unfold at a natural pace with organic exploration, providing some hints if the player missed something critical. Since I know all the content in the game, it is sometimes difficult for me to recognize where players might get stuck if they do things in an unexpected order or miss some clue.

As of Kepler 17342, the number of common "stuck" points in the game have dwindled, but I still want to be aware of any.

  • General: Some times you need to return to Celaeno for new information.
  • General: If you think you are stuck, make sure you've investigated any yellow or purple highlighted investigation targets on the map (unscanned or unsurveyed anomalies). Also, check the Mission Log.
  • Mid Game: The Heretic Portals require a key that should be found soon after you find one. Once a portal is active, you can fly into it.
  • Mid Game: Some player have had trouble re-finding ships of The Trade Guild. They can usually be found in the constellation where you find the Aquarian Colony. If you search your log for "guild master" you can see where you last interacted with them.
  • Late game: One of the three keys you need drop from the Devout in the green nebulae, but only after you've completed the Arkadian quest line.
  • Late game: The unstable cores will eventually respawn after you leave the area
  • Late game: Several players have had trouble locating the Missing Goryr vessel. Sometimes it is legitimately hard to find, but it is also possible to accidentally destroy. Failing to find it doesn't block the main story, but does prevent the mission from being completed.
  • Late game: In Strange Matter, the mission reports the Xenium task as completed, whether or not you have the correct amount. You need to deliver 4 units to complete the mission.
  • Late game: In the unstable "storm space", there's a trail of debris you need to follow to the NE.

You can now submit saves game via F8, but since feedback is anonymous, also post in this thread so I (or another player) can respond.

Hi @Bing!
This was my experience too. Although you should also have recovered a Sepharial Talonian Fragment from the planet as well

Oooh. Not sure if I have it (or haven't checked the cargo probably). Thanks (:

Also having troubles with Wiskamug Fortress.
- There are a couple white stars nearby, a colony on one of the planets reveals the first answer. Where to get the other two, I'm clueless.
- Picked up an Archive Databank that claims to have stories of Wiskamug's adventures, but that's it. No extra data, no crew popups with some info what's on it, nothing. Tried talking to Goryr & co about it, no extra options either

Hi @Bing!
So for Wiskamug, the answers can be found generally:
- One of the planets to be surveyed in the diamond-shaped constellation (plus two accessory stars very close by) has the well-defended Well, which describes the number of space pirate legions taken down in that encounter
- One of the planets has the derelict Devout Cathedral nearby with Wiskamug graffiti in it. The clue to the star system name is the name of the observatory *on* the planet
- The last answer relates to one of the other encounters in which Wiskamug is mentioned. Look through your log for mentions of: Kors or Abystar

Okay great, I can't read apparently xD Found everything, thank you so much!
I'm lost on a mission, currently, and would appreciate a nudge or two in the right direction(s).

The CTXA - I have an objective to find a "half-chariot" in order to locate a missing ship. Is that the broken generation ship at -35.4 X -26.6? Or is it the remnant wreckage at 24.9 X -0.7? Either of those seem to meet what I recall a chariot being, in this context. What do I do from there? I've tried just aimlessly flying around both of them without any luck.

Hi @zombieking121212 !

There are some other posts in the forum regarding this mission in the late game. See if you can search by some of the posts I've made and look for the ones that reference things like 'Watchtower" and decimal/binary conversions.

Lost Goryr mission bugged. Found the lost ship (and the derelict), handed over the mission item, but then was just told to get lost. Multiple interactions just repeat the same text, until suddenly I can't interact with the ship anymore.

EDIT: To be perfectly clear, I've:
- Analyzed the mission item already
- Handed it over to the stationary lost ship
- Only told "you don't need to stay here" multiple times
- Lost ship is now labeled "Investigation completed" and I cannot interact with it anymore

Already submitted my latest save from in-game.

Haven't had a chance to look at your save, but once you've delivered the beacon, you don't need to interact with that ship further. Once you return to the Goryr in your home system they should react.

Then it's still a bug that I can interact with it multiple times -- the on-screen text also suggests that "further investigation is possible". To confuse things even more, the mission log suggests the information on the EMP weapon is with the ship, so I kept trying.

Unfortunately, I am at the part in the game with the Devout drops. I have 2/3. I have completed 55 missions. I have only 3 In Progress: (CXTA - Going to the Half-Chariot I know about does nothing), (Wiskamug - not much there), (Redacted 2/3).

I have destroyed about 200 ships in the green nebula area, with the exception of the mothership, and that dreadnought. Does the other key drop from one of them? I've tried and failed to kill them a dozen times, but I guess I can keep grinding. The ONLY other place I haven't completely explored is the Seph... Sephora.. Sephiroth.. That system - mostly because they get angry and they're real hard to kill. But I paid the spy and got the bit.

So I've read in here I'm supposed to get this 3rd key in the green/arrowhead region. Is it supposed to take like 6 hours (so far) of grinding? (I have Cruiser and Arkadian).

Any help would be appreciated. About to shelve this as unripe and move on to something else.

"The CXTA" is also now complete, leaving just Redacted, and Wiska.
Landslide Jul 23, 2024 @ 6:41am
Have since destroyed the Mothership, killed the Reaper, found a deep void Easter egg (planet). Have killed about another hundred Devout - no drops. Checked Guild Traders - didn’t sell it (have also bought all their artifacts, and all of CXTA artifacts). Haven’t gotten any research in awhile. Aside from Dreadnought, SilphaSephaSapher dudes and Wiska, everything else is trivial now. I guess I’ll keep grinding until I can kill them all too.
