Hi @kjolnir!
(Like mjolnir, only not spelled the same)
At the time of this posting (unless Kevin adds one shortly) there are eight Talonian Fragment items to collect, each requiring a side quest to find.
They are
LAST_TALONIAN.Anomalies/FirstPiece", "Brass Pillar",
BONE_TALONIAN
CXTA_TALONIAN
FROZEN_TALONIAN
GUILD_TALONIAN
RINGWORLD_TALONIAN
SEPHARIAL_TALONIAN
WISKAMUG_TALONIAN
You can obtain them by:
LAST_TALONIAN.Anomalies/FirstPiece", "Brass Pillar", -- exploring sufficiently far in the galaxy to trigger this random encounter.
BONE_TALONIAN -- Exploring until you discover the Altar to the God's Bones item, then later getting some scientific insight to point you to a further planet
CXTA_TALONIAN "CXTA Talonian Fragment" -- Improve your relationship with the CXTA until you are offered their undelivered cargo. All cost gold and give you research points, but Undelivered Cargo 6 will let you trace and locate a CXTA derelict if you can also find a certain map location
FROZEN_TALONIAN -- If you advance into the Kyrnan / Nimion conflict, this should be part of exploring the nearby constellations through warp gateways, then tracing the world's location through certain clues in other required random encounters
GUILD_TALONIAN -- IIRC you just buy this directly from the Trade Guild RINGWORLD_TALONIAN -- For this you need to locate a world with a large HALO-shaped megastructure around it, and also a clue from Captain Dolson which will provide a map to a specific spot on the ring
SEPHARIAL_TALONIAN -- You need to locate the Sepharia system in the post-Kyrnan / Nimion systems (it's essentially at the far end of that branch), then just explore the central world in their star system. Easy.
WISKAMUG_TALONIAN -- You need to gain access to Wiskamug's fortress. The answers to the security questions are dependent on certain random encounters in the surrounding diamond-shaped star constellation
If you've found those stars then you've exhausted the locations related to that mission.
However, as close as the star where you warped-in after being tricked by the Devout to enter the green nebula, the encounters with the Goryr should allow you to unlock an EMP resistance tech. That's the last item I have in the quest notes.
Yeah, been all around that star as well, found the derelict, talked to the patrolling Goryr cruiser, but nothing that unlocks the research or completes the mission. Active notes are:
* Vessel may have info about Devout EMP weapon.
* Last known location (with a waypoint)
* We've been supplied a "transponder encoder"...
Edit: Searched my log, last relevant entry was my Observation officer saying, "This is the approximate location of the missing vessel's last transmission. It can't have gone too far."
The Goryr-shaped derelict with no survivors -- that's not the ship you were looking for. Though it did handily point you toward the stars near the Collapsar you'll need to advance the plot.
Hmm, nothing, unfortunately.
- Cargo Spill
- Emergency Priority Override
- Evacuate Outpost
- Ship Activity
What other events do I need to trigger in order to progress the story? That's unusual and may be a bug. Please submit your save in-game via F8 and I'll take a look, thanks.
Edit: I see that you already did.
I believe 1 is a high-frequency drop from the Devout in the green nebula, but it doesn't drop until after you've finished the Archive Crystal quest.
So it looks like what happened is that Rama's default conversation changes when players reach a certain progression as measured in RP, but your Research Points were... ahem... considerably above that threshold. So the new conversation replaced the one you needed to encounter.
There was a secondary check in place to avoid just this scenario, but apparently that check doesn't work with another Kepler change. I'll have to fix it but in the mean time you need to wait until you've completed the initial areas before modifying your save.
Interesting.
Perhaps submit a bug report, but off the top of my head, you might need to analyze the Goryr Transponder item before it can be 'used' in that context.
I think The Lost Goryr may not (?) be a necessary mission to advance the main game, but may only be complet-able if you deliver the transponder to the crippled ship.
Same here. The lost Goryr is lost for good.
Got it. I previously went as far as I could in the Draconis build and didn't want to wait until I could freely design my ship again in the new Kepler build. I should have guessed that some events are triggered by resource levels. Thanks for the quick response and help!
