Stuck? Can't figure out what to do next? I want to hear about it.
In the game's open world universe, the player is free to explore at their own pace and direction. Most of the game's core story line is expected to unfold at a natural pace with organic exploration, providing some hints if the player missed something critical. Since I know all the content in the game, it is sometimes difficult for me to recognize where players might get stuck if they do things in an unexpected order or miss some clue.

As of Kepler 17342, the number of common "stuck" points in the game have dwindled, but I still want to be aware of any.

 • General: Some times you need to return to Celaeno for new information.
 • General: If you think you are stuck, make sure you've investigated any yellow or purple highlighted investigation targets on the map (unscanned or unsurveyed anomalies). Also, check the Mission Log.
 • Mid Game: The Heretic Portals require a key that should be found soon after you find one. Once a portal is active, you can fly into it.
 • Mid Game: Some player have had trouble re-finding ships of The Trade Guild. They can usually be found in the constellation where you find the Aquarian Colony. If you search your log for "guild master" you can see where you last interacted with them.
 • Late game: One of the three keys you need drop from the Devout in the green nebulae, but only after you've completed the Arkadian quest line.
 • Late game: The unstable cores will eventually respawn after you leave the area
 • Late game: Several players have had trouble locating the Missing Goryr vessel. Sometimes it is legitimately hard to find, but it is also possible to accidentally destroy. Failing to find it doesn't block the main story, but does prevent the mission from being completed.
 • Late game: In Strange Matter, the mission reports the Xenium task as completed, whether or not you have the correct amount. You need to deliver 4 units to complete the mission.
 • Late game: In the unstable "storm space", there's a trail of debris you need to follow to the NE.

You can now submit saves game via F8, but since feedback is anonymous, also post in this thread so I (or another player) can respond.

If you've made them very angry (damaged/killed a lot), it will take longer to cool down, but the decay is exponential with their "aggro" halflife being 2 minutes in Draconis (going down to 1 minute in the next update). I.e., after 2 minutes they're half as angry, after 4 minutes they're 25% as angry, after 6 minutes 12.5%, etc.

The Starlance was aimed at something you've encountered before; you should go down there and see what's changed.

Thank you! I will try that.

I've completed earlier builds several times, but I seem to be stuck in Ganymede 13211.

UPDATE: I've completed 32 of 33 missions. The only one open is The Starlance, and there are no clues how to unlock it. There are no unexplored stars or planets visible on the map.
---
I've completed 30 missions, and explored 71 (?) systems, but still can't find a way to interact with the starlance or find a solution to the Imperial Flora quest.

I think the Imperial Flora solution is a random anomaly, but I've run out of unexplored planets. I've tried patrolling the systems where the emissary travels, hoping the emissary will spawn and open the way to an unexplored system, but so far no luck.

The only things still left that I can do are:
1. Sell the scepter to the Legion Ermyr (unless this has changed, it just gets you copper?)
2. Destroy more Devout ships in hopes of getting data that will unlock the Sunken City anomaly.

The starlance = You need to visit the listening post in the Nimion/Krynan minefield warzone area and crack it. It sends you to a coordinate to grab the jade cradle. Then you analyze it and bring it to Dolson, who then has you research it and bam, have access to the Starlance.

Imperial Flora = Yeah, it like the coffee beans and the particle fountain are not guaranteed to be in a run. Frustrating but yeah.

What is the Sunken City anomaly?

The planet has numerous Fallen Empire arcologies across its surface. From the lander's approach, it is clear that many of them are actively being searched, presumably by the Devout.

The lander makes several high-altitude passes to avoid detection by the Devout ground teams, but without precise landing coordinates, an exhaustive search of the structures would be impractical.

The problem is, I can't find "precise landing coordinates". Since it is being searched by the Devout, I thought maybe a Devout Databank would work, but I already have 4 and they don't seem to be dropping anymore.

Hmmm must not have found that one yet.

34 missions complete ( 1 more i just need to turn in ) mission singularity does not complete, but it being end of content makes sense. only mission i am really stuck on is: evacuations. i got all the data from all the probes, but no clear direction where to go to next. i could be missing something so any hint/help is welcome. in this build isee less bugs and no frustrating errors what so ever, so keep up the really good work. loving the game....

No. that's not it.
- The Nimion base ship in the debris field mentions a mysterious chest.
- Then the Listening Post tells you where the chest is buried
- The burred chest itself contains "an artifact of a familiar brassy color"

That is not the key to the Starlance.

You must've missed a burst relay, because one of them is malfunctioning and just gives you the coordinates to a nearby system containing the planet Quldar.

hmm weird i whent to the planet with the devout mission on it and it says survey complete. so either i still need 1 more relay, or the mission is glitched and already completed but not removed from log

Sorry, I just encountered this on a new playthrough and I was totally wrong about the Devout Mission being the end of that quest. You DO have to find the malfunctioning relay, because the final planet will be near that.

If you read the full transcript from the relay, it mentions two things: The location of the Devout Cradle, and the location of the Frozen Brass Pillar. The first is the key to the Starlance. The other is optional content for now.

I'm looking at the log. The first 4 entries are chatter. Only the 6th could be about the key?
Fragment 6, Unknown: Devout still have not located key at gateway... crucible in orbit, proceed to arcology....
I've been to the arcology "Planetary Anomaly: Dusty Trails" and explored all the neighboring systems without finding any key.
If that's the only clue you get, it's way beyond my abilities.
