some systems don't seem to have the slinger things. and gates have to be activated.
and if there really just were you are supposed to go, doesnt that defeat a big part of the game. i mean with the planets and random encounters.
Just be a little patient
Not sure how VOID work exactly but, the higher the stat, faster you travel.
-> Add vents near the engines. They produce a lot of heat, and lose speed as they overheat. Usually I try to have one full vent next to each Tier 2 engine.
-> Replace T1 Engines with T2 Engines.
-> Use Turbo Thrust and have sufficient battery / reactor to reach your destination without running out of energy.
-> Minimize weight of the ship. Armor and normal Hull Blocks are heavy, so are weapons. Switching to basic "lighter" hull blocks helps a lot, as well as having minimal weapons for long-distance flights.
-> Use cruise mode and AFK for a bit. Especially useful if you Ctrl + LMB click a spot on the map, then it will cut engines once reaching it.
-> Use two Wings when exploring the Void.
-> Try to plot courses away from planets and stars, to maximize Void percentage.
-> Have a lot of engines. If I lack resources, I mix and match T1 and T2 engines.
-> T1 Engines produces much less heat, so if you lack resources for vents, stick to them.
-> Symmetry is irrevelant for speed, so you can have a very lopsided looking ship that goes faster.
-> Think about where you want to go, and use warp-gates or flingers to shorten the journey.
-> Always activate warp-gates the moment you enter a system, to make sure you don't miss them.
-> Try to avoid taking damage to your engines, in a firefight. Not only does it cause them to overheat faster and burn more energy, but they also provide less thrust and acceleration. So where possible, use a Shield Generator.
-> Use the ship designs menu, to save your current combat hull and save an exploration specific hull, for exploring. That way you can switch between them quickly.
Thank you for the insight!
Questions:
Can you CTRL+LMB more than one destination?
If my ships have two wings, and I add two more wings, the VOID stat increase?
The game limits you to 2 wings. So unless you can figure out a way to override that limit, I don't know how you could exploit that. There is a "large wing" in the extra parts developer technology (that is hidden by default), that can be activated by editing your save file and giving yourself that technology. I believe with two small wings and one large wing I get higher void bonus, but the Large Wing is like 25 Neutronium... so quite pricy.
decreasing weight on ship(lees components),use light components(aluminium).
make the heat map of ship components optimal or use vents
Good tip, thanks. I didn´t even consider having an explorer build as well.
