What am I missing? Story no longer progressing.
Here's where I'm at:

The last real thing I've done is help the Nimion and Kyrnan avert war however I think the Kyrnan are sketchy and don't want to buy their device. I left that area and managed to secure shields. I don't have lasers or missiles. I also pacified the race that was abusing the race on some planet.

What else is there? Do I have to betray the Nimion to futher the story or is this all there is? It seems like it isn't since a lot of people on this forum are talking about some of the things they've achieved.

SPOILERS. I don't know how to do spoiler blackout. Don't read this if you don't want a spoiler.

I also find the Kyrnan to be sketchy, but you do have to buy the thing to let the story progress. It's a bit of a hole, in that it kills progression if you don't. I know that a few people (myself included) have fed this back to Kevin as an issue, but for now, it's what you will have to do to let the story carry on.

Before or after screwing the lion aliens? Do I have to get that device and screw them THEN take their side or can I just start killing the impala creatures?

Progression in this game is frustrating. It's like bad gotcha puzzles from inflexible dungeon masters who think of one solution to a problem and none of the players guesses the right answers the session is basically over. I can't tell how far I'm into a mission or what to do to make progress in missions? It's not obvious. I don't know if they block each other or if I JUST have to go to the same planet 3 times to unlock the next step in another progression.

THIS IS FRUSTRATING and not fun. That's bad game design.

You get the device and screw them, but when the attack happens, talk to them at their base and you can convince them that you weren't to blame.

You get that we're a week into a year of early access, right?

Yes, the Kyrnan are suspicious. But when following the Nimion mission you find out about it.
But...the Kyrnan are offering a thing and then a contract for making piece. When delivering the piece contract the story goes on.
Then you can decide with whom to side.

does anyone has more informations? somehow I fear that choosing the wrong side might lack my input so I never know who is the real baddie.
Overall it's the typical cold war story that turns hot.

I have to say the Kyrnan are not cute kitties, they look demon like kind out of bad folklore or at least from horror movies or fantasy games.
It's easy to side with the kitties...on the other side I have that ooold Wing Commander story with Kilrathi in my mind.

Kyrnan are "Logical do-whatever-it-takes types" who will go aggro on any threat until it is no longer a threat.
Nimion are "We are mighty hunters, they are space-deer, so we attack them!" types that bit off more than they could chew.
There isnt really a "wrong" choice, Kyrnan gives laser upgrade, Nimion give Missile upgrade.
You spend less time in Nimion space so they are less annoying as hostiles, but the missile upgrade is pretty nice... Your call! Personally I wish there was a way to make the peace stick but...

Same here. im stuck with the Kyrnan-Nimion war. Im told I need to find the Kyrnan homeworld wich has a large nitrogen ocean, but no further indication.

My game ended with a giant wormhole to another universe that won't let you go anywhere without killing you.

i haven't played this yet but if it's anything like the first game you actually have to do some sleuthing , in the first game you got hints about 3 satellites sending signals and you actually could use triangulation to draw a line to find a hidden base, or you could just keep doing random stuff until your HQ said "hey dummy we found this thing go check it out" and that would put you near enough to the place that your radar would detect it.

Point being , if it is telling you to find a nitrogen ocean planet you might need to look at the map for frozen planets , it might be nothing special just blue planet somewhere but by using that location you might be able to figure out where the destination is or may be there is a clue like certain color stars typically have x type of planets so if you see a star way off in the middle of no where maybe you could take a long trip across open space and find something there.

As far as the "only one method to solve the puzzle" hopefully that is just because it's in early access and the other paths haven't been made yet, like with my first example you could triangulate the position and go there early in the first game, or you could eventually get there by doing other side quests.

Loved the first game but I've been waiting til this one is completed before I play it for just those reasons, I don't want to get frustrated or be forced to take only one path.
