Since I don't use plasma and lasers at the same time, I just remap lasers to LMB, personally.
Hey Alexa,
PEW PEW PEW
(btw. try them, they rock. Yes, they only shoot in one direction, but hell, they have a nice range and dmg.)
Sadly I can't help you with your lasers, I didn't tested them yet. I only did read they need to charge before they fire, so maybe you don't hold the button long enough pressed?
either incoming missiles or enemy ships or something needs to be in range, then pressing and holding their fire button will fire them (default space or one of 123)
Actually he wrote that he had locked them and that he is in range. I think it's that he is not pressing the button long enough and the lasers can't fully charge.
yeah I'm guessing hes mistaken
or maybe out of energy?
Also I have noted some discrepancies with Lasers. Sometimes they will charge up and fire at expected range. Other times they will only charge up and fire at closer range. I've also had a couple of instances where lasers have charge up but not fire, and in one instance the lasers did not charge up or fire.
If I lock on to objects I can often avoid the range bug so I think it has something to do with the game no recognising how close objects are for automatic firing -- or perhaps it only occurs on a cycle so I have gotten ALOT closer before the game passively selects it and fires...
how do you select secondary?
for me, space fires everything, missiles and lasers.
When I first tried the laser, I thought they worked like the other weapons. They sort of do. However, you have to do a little more work with them.
How do the lasers work?
First, you right-click your target to lock your lasers. Then you hold down alpha-4 or space. Your lasers will first charge up and then start firing. Given the target is within range.
What's positive?
The lasers are moderately powerful with good range and are easy to use.
What's negative?
The lasers consume a lot of power rapidly.
