Known Issues
Now that the game has graduated from Early Access, I feel very good about the quality. Still, bugs are inevitable. Here are some existing known issues. If you encounter anything not in this list, please let me know either here or in-game via F8.

Known issues (Kepler 17334):
  • There may still be some places where, if players did things in an unexpected order, the mission system doesn't make it clear how to progress. Many, but not all of these were addressed in 17334. If this happens to you, please report in the "Stuck" thread.
  • Save/reload repairs ship health
  • Sometimes "load last save" will not load the most recent Quicksave. If you can reliably reproduce this, please let me know.
  • Some players report frequent crashes on laptops with older integrated Intel GPUs. Two unrelated scenarios where players have reported this is the Cargo screen and certain enemy attacks like the Devout Havok Shroud
  • Some players have reported finding some of the UI input sounds too high pitched. If this is you, please let me know in this thread.
  • Some modules are not showing thermal effects in the shipyard (fixed guns, bulkheads)
  • Loading a save game during certain transitions (such as the prologue opening) can break the camera.
  • The Derelict Monitor mission can potentially be broken by the Imperial Flora mission where the Flora Blight replaces the anomaly you need to investigate. Post a comment in this thread if you think this has happened to you.
  • It is possible to soft lock the game if you save while a "Game Over" dialogue is open, then load that save. E.g., if the Aletheia or Celaeno are destroyed, the game ends. If you save while the game over dialogue is open, then load that save, that ship will no longer exist in your save.
  • Bug where dynamic dispositions do not return to neutral without at least one ship active.
  • Very rare error can occur if a persistent object crosses a sector boundary during the same frame as a game is saved. The symptom is a series of exceptions that begins with a warning that says something like "coordinate sector did not match containing sector".

Some of these issues should be fixed in the upcoming Kepler 215XX update, now in opt-in beta:

Wiskamug doesn't sell the Shield Projector. I got the Shield Controller from the shielded station and then Wiska only had the Matrix. I noticed the Shield Projector has a tradeValue of 0, which is likely why Wiska doesn't sell it.
There is another problem that may be related to this one, people report that if they bought their second shield item, the third one never drops. See thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/1750770/discussions/0/4847651360127135923/

I have an issue where analysing the Missile Dephaser relic doesn't unlock the Dephased Missiles technology on the research screen. I have all other missile research unlocked, I'm not sure if there's another prerequisite I'm missing.

every time I open my map when I enter certain systems....

Fixed guns behave strangely. Adding more than 4 of them adds almost nothing to fire rate in cannon mode.

Also, fixed guns are not marked with color in heat profile.

When using mouse steering:
When your map is opened, your ship still steer like the map wasn't displayed (or as if your ship was still at the center of the screen, wich isn't necessarly true in map display).
That, and I would also like to still be able to use directionnal key to steer, on top of the mouse. When you just want to make frank, unaccurate, sharp changes of direction, you might prefer keyboard, and reserv the mouse for aligning your target.
Its seems the game have problem registering middle mouse clicks.
Sometimes, I can click 5 times in a row without opening the map, and if I just AltTab to the steam windows, each actuation correctly trigger the vertical scrolling cursor (as an exemple).

Sometimes, I can make like 50 actuations in a row with normal, behavior, some other times with nothing happening, and some other other times, on actuation, the view start to zoom in or out(depending from which view you start) for a fraction of a second before reverting back to the pre-actuation state.

Bug: after re-investigating refinery (, 9.4 x -0.4) after it begins sending materials to Caelano, dialogue prompt opens, but there's no way to close the dialogue, effectively freezing the game.

Thanks, this should be fixed in the next update (currently an opt-in beta).
I'm getting like a +6700% difficulty modifier for some analysis challenges. I don't know why. I'm playing on very hard (2.0) difficulty. I'd guess it has something to do with the skill reset lab I've been using. I used it to make a particular officer very very capable for the trial. (To be clear, this makes those challenges easier, pretty much guaranteed to pass.)

Difficulty doesn't affect skill checks.

If this is persisting, could submit a save game so I can see what's going on?

Is there a known issue with fixed guns DPS not being calculated correctly in thermal simulation, or we all don't know how to properly cool those guns for them to reach peak DPS?
