Not only did the Devs not host the server in the first place(That was SoD), that server was an utter pile of garbage. It only existed for people to farm stats to ludirious levels, and hurt any retention of new player population because of how instantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ any new player was if they joined that server. Not to mention they had a particular habit of stealing maps for 3.0 and taking credit for everything done on them(In particular: A edit of Snowbound me and Reborn worked on for Davidians. They promptly took it, updated it to 3.0 with a broken skybox, and removed all trace of me or Reborn having worked on it in the credits, despite including every single change we had done, and then refused to give us any kind of credit).
I still think the Dev team made a massive mistake not shutting down that server. It was damaging for the overall health of the game.
So you think the Dev team also should have shut down perks servers? Because it's so different from vanilla and resembles SoD server. Any server should exist not matter how bad the server is.
