In the second area, I triggered something that allows me to visit the area during the day or at sunset.

You happen to remember where to find that setting to change it? I remember something about it in the menu but I for the love of me can't find it at all

if you've already unlocked a different time of day preset, from the location selector, above the thumbnail there's a little up arrow to switch between them.

Btw, there's definitely more than 2 for at least some. I've unlocked 3 selectable presets for Iceland (default foggy, sunset, snow blizzard), and I also entered a 4th state for Iceland (deep blue night), but it didn't show up as a selection, so I think it might only be accessible by retracing my steps to enter it.

Edit: Yup, retraced my tracks in Iceland and got back to the deep blue night preset, and even went through the portal there, but it doesn't come up as a selectable. No matter, easy when you know how to get to it ;)

Anyone else played Iceland like this? Haven't seen any other screenshots or video of it.

On the second map I was

Walking on one of the roads and it transitioned and put me back on the beach at sunset.

Yes, I just got to the blue night in Iceland. Try going back to place you got the glacier picture for a secret :)
