Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3

Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3

ShuttleRoque Jun 22, 2014 @ 12:05pm
Has anyone been able to fix the "failed connection: 1-2 1-3" error?
I'm forwarding all the Red Alert 3 ports in this list
I've tried disabling both the firewall and antivirus software.
My friends can play with each other, just not with me.

Any solutions or suggestions?

Ok, so the new server for Ra3 is soon to be released, this will solve most (if not all) connection problems, you can find out more information here : http://www.gamereplays.org/kaneswrath/portals.php?show=page&name=gamespy-closure-new-service-announcement

Just leaving a comment if anyone having the same problem now:
- It is a typical problem if you are trying to play from the same internet connection therefore ate least one of you should use a VPN (example windscribe)
- You can play it now via C&C Online which is free.

The Gamespy servers that once hosted online games are no longer up and running. the cnc-online website is a server hosted by a 3rd party that is officially supported by the game.

Make an account with https://cnc-online.net/en/ (it's the equivalent of making an EA.com account which is what you would have done before), download their server launching software, and run it in compatibility mode to windows xp sp3.

then go to your steam library, right click on the game and select Properties, go to local files, and make sure RA3.exe and runme.exe are set to windows xp sp3 too. Close everything but steam, then launch the C&C online launcher, select the "hook" option at the top and hook to Red Alert 3 (you'll see this by having a check mark next to it) and then select Red Alert 3 from the launcher. 30 seconds later, you're in the game, and can play online and do the co-op campaigns.

Hope this helps!

I have found a solve; after 4 days of searching the net I got the sollution.

Links down below.

You have to use C&C Online together with this solution.

One of you should download a VPN program, the one i used that works is Windscribe VPN; download it, create a account then login on the app, turn it on after choosing where you want to connect, and then BOBS YOUR UNCLE. No more problems.

C&C Online:

Windscribe:

What helped for me was uninstalling Malwarebytes, setting the game to compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 and Run as Admin on both systems. I also used a VPN with 1 system but will test later if it was needed or not (both system in same home/internet).
This was for using CNC-Online with the Tacticus it provides and using accounts signed up on its site to connect with in-game instead of our EA Games accounts.

Dude, this topic literally predates the existence of CnC-Online. No need to necro it.
