You don't have to install the Origin client. First time you'll be asked to login to your EA/Origin account and that's it no additional client required to play C&C and almost every EA title currently available on Steam.

W8, so if i buy this i need to install origin or not? Cuz thats extremely important since its like choosing to get cancer or not.

I don't have Red Alert 3 installed at the moment but when I bought it from Steam it did NOT require the Origin client (it didn't even exist at that moment). I would be very surprised if EA updated the game to require Origin. You might be asked to login (within the game) with an EA account/Origin for playing online.

Guess that's a no go. Dragon Age: Origin required Origins. It made my life hell.

Red Alert 3 works without origin, origin is not required.

The game doesn't even launch! I'm familiar with EA being so borring but this crosses the line! What the heck can I do to launch the game?
