Can't argue with free! I wish EA would put the older BF games back on the free list too, Bf1942 works 100% fine without gamespy, you just need to direct connect.

It is a little odd to play RA2 all these years later, as the soviet game starts with "destroy the pentagon!" as soviet troops out of your control airdrop on the Iwo Jima memorial and start gunning down American tourists/civilians. You can really tell this was a pre 9/11 game, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HEAVY in alot of ways.

Got the game off Origin, then nearly pulled my hair out TRYING to get the damn thing to work on my Windows 8.1 loaded PC, before finally giving up in frustration.

Running on 8.1 x64. And the game works just fine.
There are 3 reasons the game won't start for you:
1 - compatibility. We exclude this since you run on the same system as me;
2 - drivers / software such as net framework;
3 - some av or firewall app blocks the game.

I've been playing Red alert 2 and Yuri's revenge on windows 7. It works fine except from when I scroll the screen there is a lot of screen tearing

It doesn't work. The base gets destroyed in 1 minute. The CPU would bring in some armies and just blow up your base before the game even start.

I already try reinstalling it. It doesn't work. I contacted Origin. I still have to wait for a reply but they had some other solution I kind of need to try but it's a long step and want to find one that's easier and faster.

Maybe to late to write here :P
But i got same problem, extremy high CPU and my PC lagging like hell...
And still i have very good PC, 3,2 GHZ, 16GB 1666ghz.

Did contact Orgin but the did not answer :/
Did even reinstall both Orgin and RA2 but have same problem...
Its only RA2, not wonder way it was free, lol...
