seriously, anon, game works fine out-of-box in both my native Windows 7 and clean Windows 10. if you cannot make it run then you are doing ♥♥♥♥ wrong. and need to review what kind of ♥♥♥♥ you are doing
> Cant get it to open. Dx9 error.
you shall start with it. seriously, you didn't have DirectX 9 installed? and you had expected the game from 2009 to -what- magically support the APIs from the 10+ years future? =/
Not to mention you have to FIND and click each individual building to building something of its category. this game sucks ass. and it doesnt run out of box. it is broken beyond belief.
thread was cleaned I see. thank you, @mods!
I'm on Windows 11, I experienced the DX9 bug, but managed to fix it today.
You do need to install DX9, RA3 won't work on newer versions of DX for some reason.

The second reply on this thread walks you through how to do it.
Make sure you restart your PC after installing DX9, then try launching RA3.
(For me the game takes a weirdly long time to start up, but once it does it runs fine,)
IDK if this works for me, I gave up. This is why no one plays the game anymore. Bad devs. I'll pin this answer anyways incase it works for others.
