I found the weapon damage types in general a little disappointing. There's lots of dark weapons, but dark isn't that great and I can only think of one fire melee weapon. Normal damage weapons aren't great because some enemies are completely immune but holy is effective for almost the whole game.
The problem is that if Ice Tear ever (and likely will) get nerfed, Ice Spear isn't great against these guys if you have low Int, and Ice Sickle isn't great if... well Ice Sickle just isn't great by end game.
While I'm fine with some combat styles having blind spots for certain elemental damage types, it's feels really bad when its on an enemy that is the only source of a material required for multiple items.
It's more RNG on top of an already RNG heavy situation, but can make it a little more fun to see if youre going to do some damage, zero damage, or one shot them. And getting to use it from a distance is a nice bonus during it's use.
