Need help with a certain gelatinous enemy

I'm new to this game, but I would like advice on the best tactics to defeat the slime/skeleton's crawling around the Ferid lair. I pretty much have to run or exploit the game to beat them, what are they weak to?

if you hit it in the skull a couple times you should knock it off

maybe I'm mistaken but after doing so it felt like it had a harder time targeting me and I could strafe around it / avoid its attacks easier

All slimes seems easy to inflame, i usually use the "static fireball" (can't remember the name) and make sure they have to pass through it to reach me.
Since they need to be close to attack and are pretty slow, you can also use direct magic attacks or ranged attacks, hit and run.

I found it very effective to set the slimes on fire with the torch, especially if you upgrade it in wing's rest (which, as far as i can tell, is free). Two fully charged hits will set it ablaze, and from there you can either stay away until it burns to death or attack it using a weapon with good reach.

I kinda ran thru the Fetid Mire and came back later. Also ranged attacks (i.e., bows) are really useful.

I use a crossbow and spells alot fire spear does alot to slimes also later you can get a spell that will show enemy weaknesses

I'm curently maining ranged weapons, using them makes the sewers a piece of cake

The skeleton slimes can also burn but it takes a lot of hits. It took a little over half my mana at INT 14 to burn one, but some quick and careful stepping in and out while attacking with the torch will let you defeat one with no damage taken. Keep an eye on its spear arm, (the one on your left) the animations convey more than you might expect from the art style

Fire spell and/or Torch
