DA2 not available on Steam?
I have heard that DA2 was nowhere near the quality of the first game but I still would like to play it. I prefer to purchase my games through steam. Anybody know why it was pulled from the catalog....and if it will ever return?

It was pulled off because EA launched their distribution platform - Origin.
And no most games published by EA probably won't feature on Steam.

So yea you can't buy DA2 off from Steam anymore, although when it was released it was purchasable.

have to say not all EA fault tho Steam made up some new rule that all the games on steam has to be hosted by them costing the developers more cash to a company like EA is going to say "feck this"Origin sucks big time tho

Origin only no steam sorry this is the same for all new ea games for pc. No more Battlefield games including bf3 will be on steam ever and Mirrors edge games. All ea games on origin.

Its not worth it anyway DA2 is an abomination that killed the dragon age series right then and there another terrible game by Bioware who has lost its way. DA2 was a cash grab completely unrelated to your warden character from Dragon age. Bioware is racist against old style rpgs where you cant talk now.

Dragon Age 2 was pulled because Steam removed them as they could not agree to a deal with EA. Some EA titles after Dragon Age 2 were still for sale on Steam, such as new Sims 3 expansions.

Now however, new Sims 3 expansions will not be available on Steam.

Also, Dragon Age 2 is sold on impulsedriven/gamestop.

Here, impulsedriven/gamestop sells Dragon Age 2, and it does not require Origin. It does require their own gamestop application. For the people who keep running the propaganda machine that EA just wants to sell on its own software, why is Dragon Age 2 available on impulsedriven/gamestop and not Steam? Why didn't they pull it off impulsedriven.com?

Another EA title that is for sale on impulsedriven/gamestop. Battlefield 3.

Steam is more to blame for this. However, both sides should be criticized for not agreeing to a deal and hurting the customers. Just don't point the finger at EA and ignore Steam.

I pre-ordered the signature edition and I can say with 100% certainty that DA2 isn't even worth its current ($19.99) asking price on Origin. I played it through only once and removed it from my hard drive; this is compared to the countless hours I've spent in Dragon Age: Origins - which is still installed.

DA2's only redeeming quality was the DLC 'Legacy' (you have to pay extra for this) which involved the Grey Wardens and was more interesting than DA2's entire storyline. Legacy was excellent and absolutely worth the price (and then some), but since you'd have to buy DA2 and at least play through Chapter 1... I don't know. I'd wait for an Origin sale, which will probably happen around Christmas, where DA2 drops to $9.99 or less. I don't think I'd buy it at its next price point drop ($14.99, I'd guess?) but for $10 I'd buy it and then Legacy, because Legacy really is that good (just don't take Anders).

It'll make you wish your Grey Warden was your main character again, though - a heartbreaker when you imagine what could have been with DA2 instead of the abomination we were given.
