I believe the closest you can get is turning on "show plot helpers in all areas" in the options, and checking your map to see if any arrows show up. There's no on-screen quest compass or the like - the game is encouraging you to explore and find things yourself, rather than just going directly where you're told.

You can go to your journal, look at your quests, then pick one you want to do, and at the bottom is a button that you can click on to Activate Quest (or set as active quest, I forget the wording now). But anyways, depending on the quest, you may get a little pointer on your mini-map/compass thingy indicating which why to go, or bring up your map and it might also show some destination point / marker to head to. Though, depending on the quest you may not see this for all quests or for un-explored areas, etc... and as Gus says, you may have to explore a bit to find some things.
