Not even talking about fan service or whatever. The combat system was better in the first game was just more fun and satisfying. You got better showcases of the skills. You felt more like you were planning out your attacks versus just spamming in BR2. Half the time in BR2, I will tell a character to use a healing skill, they will cast it, and the healed character won't get the heal because the battle ends from the other two characters attacking at the same time. (Not to mention how unfun the one-one...
