HDR problem (windows 11)

Whenever you run the game and exit, the whole screen becomes dim and you have to restart HDR from windows settings to fix it. It only happens with this game, so please fix, it's one of my favorite games and discourages me from playing.

I don't own Hyper Demon but I have the same exact problem with several other games so I suspect it's a problem with Win11. I also found that it just resets / ignores the "Brightness for SDR content" slider position, moving it a bit restores the normal look.
It might be triggered by alt-tabbing and/or having a second screen, not sure.

I don't have a second screen and I didn't alt-tab for it to happen, so it's definitely not those.
