Unlocked Desert Base
I unlocked the desert base earlier and have done around 5 missions so far.

I'm wondering if I can just transfer all my jungle camp soldiers/workers to the desert camp. Will I ever be doing missions in the jungle base again, or is it safe to take everyone with me?

There's no need to go back (no more missions there). But only take what you need to not spend unnecessary money and resources

I would be more on the cautious side.
I'll try not to spoil either, but that will be hard.

Let's just say that at some later point you can still run operations only with what you got from jungle base.

I personally did what alexandrebestetti suggested.
But I would also recommand you to keep your jungle camp running, and NOT building again everything in desert.
I personally built in desert base only the 4 base trainings (purple, red, yellow, blue) so I could recruit from here and train what is needed for the "desert buildings" from here.

Now if for a desert mission I need a pilot or a spy, I will bring him/her from jungle.
And then play a bit on the jungle to train again a "private" with just base corresponding colors (yellow/blue) maxed for a future spy, or red/blue maxed for a future pilot.
The fact you don't specialize her/him, means you pay less salaries.
You'll specialise her/him when / if needed.

Training / building / keeping the full trained staff in same camp cost way too much money, as of now, camps are totally separate as far as money goes, and you can't transfer money from one to an other. Better let your jungle camp pay for the low requirements soldiers, have your desert base pay for the mid tier soldiers (and later on... you see the point)

Also, many seems to say they finally lack space to build. Sure I can understand that if you want to build all in same camp. I personally slowly redesign my camps nicely as I progress slowly, so I make better use of free space to decorate instead of that awful first camp layout with only laying down as many building as I could in the smallest space possible.

Hope this make sense. Happy Gaming 👍🏻

It's a nice way to play, but, when I left the jungle camp, I was doing +10k if I remember well. When I finished the game, I was doing +32k and 1kk of money in reserve, Problem is, later, specialy when you move to snow camp, 1 - there'll be a demand for all kind of soldiers 2 - there's the missions when you'll have to "transfer" soldiers" (I always train new recruits, never use veterans) and 3 - unlock new tech to keep up with the game demands. I had only 54 soldiers in camp when I finished so, I think moving from camp to camp would take too long cause in the later game I was yet, only training or transfering what I needed. So it was better for me manage the whole thing in one place.

Ok will see later, but with only 2 camps for now I feel I'm on the right track for what I want to achieve, and how I play the game currently.

I also wonder how much we do in fact agree, but maybe language issues (english not being my main) makes it sound like I was not agreeing with you, while indeed I was.

Or maybe I misunderstand your last post and you fully built everything again in snow ? from radio, sniper, to the "elite" (not sure how they are called) troops ?

Yes, we're mainly agreeing (not english native as well, sorry), and yes again, I rebuild the whole thing as the missions demands in snow and desert. I just though it was easier to do everithing in a single camp mainly because the drone atacks that become really annoying later, you can't transfer tech points from camps and later mission mix all kind of soldiers, so I did never come back for other camps for anything. Like I wrote above, money wasn't a problem as long as you keep just what you need and build accordingly your needs! Cheers!
Ah, and I would add one more thing. When you move to snow camp, missions will become harder. You can see when you recruit the soldiers for a mission, there's a number representing the enemy strenght. If you leave a soldier in a camp you're not using, he won't progress his skills (Represented 61% by training speciality, 39% by training specific skills). So, you can max out stats in a diferent camp, but then, soldiers in your main camp won't progress. Believe me, you'll need high skilled soldiers later on.

Yeah, I always transfer them totally maxed out for their main job.
Airplane pilot = maxed in XP airplane specialisation. If I transfer someone, and if it's not maxed out it's then on that case 100% specialisation airplane and then maybe I need to train them in blue & red, but those 4 main base training I always rebuild So I can train all my basic needs (security, cooks, maintenance, research). Also, I play slowly, so mainly I used to send in upper camp maxed out soldiers.

Also I tend to pre-train maxed 4 colors "privates" in desert camp for now in advance of knowing I will need those stats to train quickly the "winter" specialisations.

I tend to play few steps ahead prevently instead of playing "as it comes". I never sent non maxed out soldiers for missions, unless the ones you indeed "transfer" and never see back in your camps, and in those case, I tend to indeed train to minima to achieve mission, but I have been lucky to be able to mostly launch those missions (as of yet) from jungle base.

Also I'm now preparing my jungle base with drones defenses (all 3 types of defenses) while I rebuild that jungle base with better looking.

So I may be playing in a way slower way and having fun decorating, instead of rushing to the end game.

I hope all our back and forth will make sense for OP. But I feel it's good sharing of point of views and ways to do.
My way being probably the LEAST effective 😋🤣

Good my friend, yes, I rushed the game for sure, because the drone problem in snow was insane late game (no time for relax). Once, they hit my fully populated mess hall with all kind of useless defenses around sending dozens to infirmary at same time. Have fun and my best regards!
