That's not why it was removed, the license most likely expired.

several nfs games got removed at the same time. its the outcome of most racing games on digital stores. if there was physical copies we wouldnt have this issue.

There are still physical copies, for consoles.

obviously. but there isnt for pc, or at least they are very rare. eventually physical media will get phased out completely. however its their loss, at least on pc you can download abandon-ware and play it for free

Even if the physical discs stayed...it'd be pointless. By the time you buy a disk, even new...the data on that disc is already outdated and patches must be downloaded. Even digital downloads aren't stagnate. They still need updates.

But once you own the game you can download updates regardless if it's physical media or not. All they remove is the purchase of the media, not the downloads of what you own.

Take Need for Speed: Undercover, for instance. Even if you had the had the disc(s) you wouldn't be able to download updates, those download servers are long gone.

Yeah. Digital content only is really starting to turn me off and i am buying less and less now cos of that. You do not own anything and they can turn off the tap whenever they want for whaever reasons they want. A disk you install it and be done. With digital you have to download some crap third party launcher, a million of them.

Try to watch a movie you bought from amazon in their offline viewer app. You cant do it. The digital content you legally own only has a shelf life of 30 days using their app. You would have to re-download your pard for conent every 30 days if you want to watch using their app. Needless to say i dont buy anything digital from amazon anymore. digital is anti consumer
