Stop punkbuster installation?

This is an old game that Iwill never play multiplayer, the servers are probably downa nyway so I don't want to bother installing punkbuster. I didn't encounter any issues from not having the anti cheat installed, aside from the fact that it asks me to install it every time I launch the game. Mildly annoying. Is there a way to stop that behavior? A launch option in steam? Changing the opening path or something?

let it install but stop+disable the service in services.msc

Once you've finished installing the game, go to game root folder and remove Punkbuster Folder and anything related to it from there. (cause running the games EXE will reinstall it if you just uninstall PB service while the PB folders are in the game files.)

Once you've done that go here, https://www.evenbalance.com/downloads.php
Select this one: PunkBuster Service Installer (pbsvc)

Run the installer and select: Uninstall Punkbuster Services
It will remove everything, including its Windows Registries.
