Need for Speed: Undercover

[SOLVED] Horrible performance on Windows 10, please help!
[SOLVED] the issue was Nvidia Control Panel auto detected my gpu as the intel intergrated gpu instead of my Nvidia GTX 1060 for that game.

I have a Lenovo Legion Y720 gaming laptop, specs: GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4, i7 7700HQ, Windows 10.

I get horrible stuttering and fps lag in this game, making it unplayable. i've tried running in compatability mode for windows xp, and disabling fullscreen optimizations in the .exe but to no avail. Does anyone know a fix for this? please help! other people say the game runs fine for them on windows 10...

also, does anyone know for a compatability fix for using xbox one controller with this game? it doesn't seem to register half the dpad buttons or LR triggers, start and select buttons.

but first things first, fixing the fps lag and stuttering. please help!

lol nice
can confirm it plays just fine at high fps on Windows 7, though now I need to find some way to have xinput controller support
lol you will find a way i assure you but me i just use keyboard
I made an error, It does work but it wasn't working properly on windows 10 for me. idk why. but it works fine on 7
Inkadinkadoo,
I runs fine here, Windows 10, Strix 1070 on Strix X99, 6900k, i don't need any Xbox tools, USB is supported.
works fine for me on windows 7, 1070, xbox one controller via usb. but on my windows 10 laptop with a 1060, i use xbox one controller via native wireless, and it doesn't recognise most of the controls. also runs like crap on the laptop

at first i had to fix resolutions-and it worked just fine!
ok, so i suspect the reason i was having bad performance issues was because my laptop's Nvidia Control panel had the default graphics device set to auto detect for the global setting. i've since changed that to force the Nvidia GTX 1060, but haven't tested it yet. i'll assume that it auto detected to use the cpu's intergrated graphics instead, because i was having the same issues with NFS Underground 2 and Most Wanted, as well as Sonic Adventure 2, but only on my laptop. i can confirm that was the issue for NFSU2 and MW1, and SA2 (although SA2 has it's own issues with GPUs and fullscreen)
lol I have a GTX 1050ti (4GB), 4GB DDR3 ram and a old AMD Phenom and Windows 10 and i have 120 FPS lmao

okay so I figured out why performance was bad. My laptop was trying to use the Intel intergrated graphics instead of the GTX 1060. I had set in my Nvidia Control Panel to force "high performance Nvidia GPU" on global settings. my global settings were set to "auto" and it was auto detecting my intel gpu for nfs undercover, underground 2, most wanted, and Sonic Adventure 2. alternatively i could've found the .exe and changed it within the nvidia control panel instead of changing the global setting. works fine now, with occasional stuttering and frame droppage. presumably due to windows 10 compatibility issues and being an older game, but mostly holds 60+fps. I get the same stuttering issues in all the above mentioned games, but not in other games. SA2

being able to change the global setting for which gpu to use wasn't in my windows 7 machine, only shows up in my windows 10 laptop for some reason. not sure if it's a windows 10 thing, or a laptop thing?

okay so, as i was typing this, i forgot i already said this earlier. but i'll leave this here still lol

so, opinon on the game so far?
too easy its also not long enough but i still love it
yeah, it's rediculously easy. i don't even have to try and i'm way ahead of the other racers. it's so easy it's not even fun. there's no challenge whatsoever. I like the driving physics though, it just doesn't feel like a NFS game's physics.

My favorite is Hot Pursuit 2.

Hi, I want to buy Undercover but I don't know if it's going to run well. So I want to know just in case how do you do to force " High Performance " in Nvidia Control ?
