As for learning the MU which parts are you struggling with (also good idea to tell us who you're using)
However, what Botan mains don't want you to know is that their moves can be pretty punishable.
Try to throw more. It will make Botans want to press buttons or jump in your block strings, which will get them hit when you choose not to throw. If you arent running pressure strings that can reset into more pressure safely, then you need to find and practice better block strings. Korone has good ways to reset pressure that Botan cant do a lot about.
Botan is pretty bad at getting out of pressure. She has 22D, and she has some 214L gimmicks that low profile a lot of moves, and thats about it. You mentioned punishing the 214L, thats the move where she goes prone and shoots the rifle. If you are close enough to punish, then youd have to jump over it. It will low profile your jump ins, so just land and hit her with like 2M. If you blocked the 214L, even at point blank I dont think its punishable, so you simply try to take your turn on pressure. Just keep in mind that she doesnt have to let it recover on block. She can super chat cancel it into another special, or 22D after recovery. Take your pressure until they show you that they will spend resources though. For neutral play, there is a spacing game to play around your yubi zoning, and her 214L. You need to try to put yourself in a space where Botan cant do 214L on reaction to your yubi zoning without risks. Full screen, she has to wait a bit, or yubi will hit her 214L recovery, So you can try to dash and jump to close space. Mid range, is more in Botans favor, as she can react without delay, and 214L before you can jump/recover from yubi. But at this mid range is where if you can jump over her 214L, you can potentially get a true punish, or at the least, start pressure.
Korone has a jump cancelable launcher on block iirc. Its pretty hard for Botans to react to the jump cancel with 2H anti air vs, say a yubi reset. Yubi into 5M can be very hard to challenge.
Korone has her own move that low profiles (3H) a ton of things Botan does. Since Botan has basically no plus frame reset pressure, she relies a lot on stagger pressure to catch mashing. She also uses her 5MM as a way to approach, get in, and start pressure. Korone 3H will just go under 5MM. It goes under 2H if she staggers that too much. It goes under her 5L if she tries a cheeky little reset.
Korone is certainly capable of dealing meterless damage on par with Botan, so def look into getting some better combos. Meterless combos with a light starter should be getting you around 300-350 damage, and more like 400-450 for any other starter.
Korone doesnt have to care about Botan oki if she has resources to spend. For some ungodly reason, wake up super DPs can be SC canceled on block in this game. So when you have meter and the Botans are getting a bit too happy hitting you meaty, DP them. If they get hit, you get full confirm, and if they blocked it, you get to start pressure. There is a lot of things that a Botan has to play around when you have resources or are close to burst. She cannot just jump over your DP like you can hers.
Ima stop typing ♥♥♥♥ now. I didnt intend for this to be so long... Hopefully some of this is helpful, and gives you some ideas to try out.
