I think in a culture that demands faith in the person you're supporting, betrayal of a large swath of fans is a big fail move. It's not cancel culture to simply disavow a person for their actions in the moment as they are happening. Contempt for Nyanners began far before she went to VShojo.

Cancel culture is taking parts of someone's past that are completely irrelevant to who they are today and using it as a means to undermine their career. Nyanners is not fundamentally different today from who she was before, she has not turned a new leaf or underwent any transformative personality changes.

The people who know her foundation are absolutely correct to be disgusted in her. You don't AW on the internet and then flip on the people who supported you and trash them in an attempt to exit into the spotlight of the greater internet without pissing off a large community that supported you. Suffice to say, people who were exposed to that treatment are distrustful about her core personality.

I really suggest anyone who has questions in their mind to just read more about her humble beginnings. This is far different than destroying streams just because someone is playing a game that a woke mob decides is banned material. The people who don't like Nyanners simply don't like her and have been pretty silent about it in general. That's the way it should be.

It never bothered me. I never took that stuff seriously. The arguments people presented never seemed compelling enough for me to hold her in contempt. There are more charitable interpretations of those old events, though Im surely in the minority on thinking that.

I personally dont have a problem with a person wanting to move away from their past if they think its going to hold them back professionally.

Its not like she knows me personally, so I saw absolutely no reason to take what she said and apply it to myself.
