explain. don't have much issue with it personally

I wouldn't say BS, but the AI is pretty good. As early as easy it was micro spacing right outside of my attack range and punishing.

Either that or I was just slightly overestimating my range and it kept getting lucky lol.

Koko's definitely having a hard time with AI using her grabs, they almost always either jump or get out of it... she has few other options outside of those...

AI spams grabs and escapes grabs consistently. Coco is a grappler so it's expected that unavoidable attacks would be repeated, so all you can really do is practice zoning her. Sora's AI is super-cheap filling the screen with projectiles and is probably the worst AI opponent, imo. I find that the trick is moving in and trying to stick a cancel-combo L->M and if it hits, begin a heavy string of attacks, then I don't press it too much, because on higher difficulties the AI will punish you for being too aggressive. It's far more fair than AI in other fighting games, in my experience, though. I spend time in training against AI at a higher difficulty to practice timing my opportunities to get large combos in and zoning with characters like Botan.

I agree. This AI in general is a little too good for being in a game that has no frame data or hitbox display at all. Additionally, even on lower difficulties the AI appears to be programmed to jump your grabs 99% of the time, if not every time. It also loves to just stand still in front of you and wait until you press a button before doing whatever is the perfect counter against you, which is made even worse by there being no method in-game to find out what buttons are advantageous for you. Of course, singleplayer content and fighting AIs is often not something fighting games are really played for, but it still should at least be a decently fun experience rather than a frustrating one.

Plus, the fact that the AI is coded to consistently avoid grabs means that properly learning a grappler like Coco and her gameplay flow seems like it would be genuinely impossible for anyone newer to fighting games and may even turn them off of playing her entirely. It's not really fun to try and "condition" an AI that does nothing but wait for you to input grab, and then immediately jumps.

The computer in this game will definitely get you if you aren't experienced with dealing with this in fighting game's single player content, but I will say this is nothing compared to what some of the old arcade cabinet games would do to keep you putting in more quarters.
why you do you say you enjoy super difficult games but complain about fg ai

I mean in the defense of players, fighting game ai cheats extremely hard in almost any fighting game, but you do have a point lol.

This explains it better than I could.

Because there is a large difference in what difficulty is and what unfair bs is.
Making a mistake and taking the damage makes it your fault and you can improve.
Having an ai that sits in front of you, waits for you to input anything at all before destroying half your hp bar makes it feel unfair. Thats the difference between difficulty and complete bs.

Unfortunately that is how fighting games have been designed for more than 2 decades, the one's that don't are far and few between and just an exception. I have never agreed with the design but it's what we got since the genre has a heavy background as arcade games which were designed to take as much money from you as they could. Could devs that didn't work on arcade games choose not to do it? Absolutely, the problem is that it's become standard to the point you assume the ai in a new game will read your inputs so nobody actually tries a different method.

Uh as a warning I wouldn't expect super good AI in a free fighting meme game on steam.

Your going to have to play against other people or join a discord/a place were newer/inexperienced fighting game players can do sets.
