Can you get married more than once? Does your child become playable?
Anyone have any idea? I've tried proposing to another character and it didn't work lol.

Yes, multiple times. Child becomes playable after 4 years, and you can boost their starting stats with various monthly family events in the social screen with your wife. There is a random chance that companions will accept your proposal based on their current mood.
