Game pass save location?

I played for 15 hours on game pass before the game disappeared my save. There is no save file in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\LocalLow\MagicDesignStudio\HaveANiceDeath so, I assume game pass puts it somewhere else, but, I can't find it.

I started a new save in the second save spot to see if that would put a save file in that folder, but, no dice.

I want to be able to back it up, so I don't lose progress again :(

It did it to me again. I made sure not to alt tab so nothing I pressed could be counted by the game and somehow delete the save, so, I have no idea how come this keeps happening. I know this forum is dead, but, I'll ask if anyone else playing on game pass has this issue as well, to know if it's just me or not. 30 hours of progress gone this time, and no way to back it up because I still don't know where microsoft hides the damn saves for it :/

js51472 Yes it did happen to me on Game Pass. I am only level 5 so starting over was not a huge issue but I came here to see if this was a common problem and found your post. I'm not sure if I want to continue investing time in the game if this is a common occurrence and it may just happen again. Makes me sad because I was really enjoying this game!

Just happened to me a third time. Will just wait for it to be 90% off on steam, so I have the ability to back up my save. I'm guessing they will never fix it, as the game has had save loss issues since launch. :(

It sucks, because even knowing it would happen again, I was quite addicted to the game and was willing to start over. Very fun, but the broken saves and a couple side quests that don't work at all take a lot away from it.

Did you manage to solve this problem? I am having the same problem and I'm about to goi mad, I think I found the place where Microsoft hides the saves, I tried to create a backup file but the game always overwrites my backup...

My solution was to buy it on steam :( Hopefully they patch the game pass version for everyone else, but, I don't even know if they acknowledge bug reports anymore. I didn't really have any helpful info for the report either, as I have no clue why it deletes saves.

I think the game pass is made fro you to try the game so you can't keep a save file. I have
bought the full game and been playing for 46 hours and never encountered any major bugs except the one time where an arena enemy spawned outside an arena, so I couldn't kill it to get out. Just had to quit and reload and redo the level.

microsoft is contracted to the US military for their cloud services.... they bury your saves in undisclosed locations so only they keep your memories.

this happened to me twice and once to my friend. they still haven't fixed the bug. Gamepass version, i loved the game but That's enough for me, I won't play again
