Game won't run! Help!

I just bought the game. Downloaded it and tried booting it up. I see the Studio Logos and the Reaper character shine animation. Then... Black screen with a airplane cursor.

I've been looking to play this game for a LOOOONG time. And now I can't even play it after purchasing.

What are the components of your computer? Also any major glitches like this should hopefully be fixed for 1,0

Same issue...game won't load just see the mouse cursor and nothing...make it past the elevator and one splash screen but then nothing.

GPU: 3070ti
PowerSupply: idk :(
Ram: 32GB
SSD: 1Tb (Have 300gb free)

It's like they don't care. I was afraid of that since the Executive Decisions Update, since it started there, and their reaction to it was "We're trying to find a solution" and "Try changing your GPU and processor", like it's that easy to buy these pieces, let alone about the compatibility issues. Earlier today, I showed the same concern about THIS update and they started on "we're cheering it will work", just to totally ignore when I alerted it didn't.

Paying for a game and not being able to play it is THIS frustrating. The only thing one of them told me after I kicked some dust in the server was a "Sorry, we're trying to fix it", and later on, something about a Steamdeck solution which was - Guess what? - A rollback to the version that worked, but had NONE of the new bosses. What now, after the 1.0, will that still be the solution?

Thing is, I'm tired of having hopes for something, just for them to be crushed right after. It'd be less frustrating and painful if it didn't happen to work in first place.

Solved the problem. I had to verify integrity of game files.

Making a new game is extremely difficult. I coded in the past and I can't tell you how incredibly difficult it is. It's like telling you to build a bridge without the manual. You have to figure out why the bridge breaks on your own and where it broke in the first place.

The thing is, this bug ain't new. It came by with the second to last update. And never left, at least here. I did everything. It still doesn't work. Still hurts because I wanted to see it working properly. "I can't do anything about something that's out of my hands" but urge the ones who can to fix it ASAP.

Edit: It actually crashes if you try to close manually, but not if you order the closure by Steam. Then it goes instantly.

i'm having the same problem to on my steam deck. The game start up but kicks me back to home screen after a few minutes.

Try verifying the file integrity to make sure everything is working properly. Another person who had a similar issue did this and it worked

Hey if anyone else has this issue, verifying the file integrity didn't work for me - but I found something to finally get it working.

Go to Nvidia control panel, manage 3D settings and then switch vertical sync from fast to just on - that fixed my game right up.
