how hard is this game?
i have seen in the reviews how the game is very old school in terms of no save points, so if you die you can walk your whole way back to the point where you died, probably having to fight the same mobs all over again.

The game looks very interesting and would be perfect since im in search for a 2d action jump&run aside my other games. But im also someone who hasnt too much patience, i dont need to swipe through but i play competetively in online pvp games, i need my singleplayer games to be forgiving XD

I suggest you read the definition of roguelikes and roguelites. The genre itself revolved around fresh starts after every win or lose, no save points to get back to after death.

And no permanent upgrades to help you. It is all just getting better

Not exactly true since you do get more curse rerolls and better starter healing as you get level.

Yes but no permanent max hp increases or damage increase that most people would consider permanent upgrades, it's just easier to say they don't exist than to explain that

Instead of creating another thread, I understand that you have to start runs over again but are the actual mechanics easy to pick up and understand?

I'm assuming to see credits roll, it might take someone 10+ hours?

Is there an actual story?

Nothing is too absurdly tough in this game, but you don't have many opportunities to screw up. Enemies do large damage and you heal for pathetic amounts. Small mistakes rack up so perfect play is encouraged more than most other games I've played.

As for the story, it's nothing to write home about. You learn everything you need about the story in the opening cinematic. It's not bad, it just takes a backseat to the gameplay.
