#1 : To spend on your reroll addiction to make sure you can get 100+ gold and 2 upgrade things every time.
#2 : When you unlock something with gold, you can 100% of the time pick it from the reroll list at the start (only for that specific run), which you can use to become insanely overpowered. As an example, I unlocked a cloak weapon last night called "Slaygore" that had broken damage and refilled your frenzy both passively and actively. I also noticed when you upgrade it, even without +cloak damage skills it does hundreds of damage every cast. By the end of the run I was hitting for over a thousand damage sometimes with the slam attack, and 300-500 with air attacks; And thats with a full blue skill bar, not red.
Pay attention to what you are unlocking. Some of the scaling on those things is absolutely obscene.
