How to find the new update area!

I had to look in the announcements to read about how to unlock the new area that came with the recent update and now I'm leaving this note here in discussions so other folks can have an easier time of accessing it!

Keep in mind that this note is written with an extra step for players who've already completed the game; I imagine the new area will already be made available to people who are starting a brand new save file.


1.) If you've already completed the game and still have your save file, you can go into your item inventory and use the Conch Shell to fast travel to any part of the world you want.

2.) Use the CONCH SHELL to fast travel to the Lake Of Bloom area. There, talk to the Capybara and ask for a ride (this is the point just before Smushi is meant to go back home). The Capybara will hesitate and then mentions that there are some strange white lotus flowers, prompting Smushi and the Capybara to check it out.

3.) You only need to stay in the water for this next part, there's no need to re-explore any of the islands! While riding the Capybara, you'll find a strange ring of leaves in the water near the bridge (kind of like a fairy ring); you'll then need to ride the Capybara around the lake to find the five missing white lotus flowers floating in the water and take them back to the ring of leaves. (You need to run the Capybara into the flowers, one at a time, so that they'll pick it up and wear it on their head for you to take back towards the bridge.)

This will unlock a hidden cave that takes you to the NEW area provided by the update, have fun exploring!!

thank you so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much I 100% this entire game in one sitting last year and I didn't remember anything so when I loaded into an island with seemingly no way of getting off I thought I somehow soft locked the game

I don't think I've ever been more mad in my entire life but I used the conch thing like you said and it worked thank god I'm so relieved
