Sorry but this is *not* light platforming
I bought this assuming that I could totally handle the movement if it was only ‘light platforming’. I have dexterity issues due to problems with my finger joints. I’m now stuck on the bit where you need to get through the TOUGH challenge and I’m afraid to use the ‘skip’ option because I won’t be able to move forward.😫

Hey there friend! Sorry to hear you're having issues with the platforming :(( The first obstacle is required for the main storyline, but the second one is totally optional if that's what you're currently trying to beat.

I hope most of the game wasn't this challenging for you in regards to the platforming! I'd suggest tilting your camera so that it's pointed towards the ground a bit more, so you can see where you're jumps are aimed as that might help you with this section of the game a bit more! <3

I do get where you're coming from, though, the obstacle course definitely is the hardest part of the game :D We'll think about what we can do as an accessibility option to make it easier!

Hey again! I'm working on a much easier version of the obstacle course that you can toggle to, so hopefully this helps a lot more with this challenge. Be on the lookout for an update to hit on Monday which contains this feature!

Just wanted to let you know we pushed an update today which adds an "Assist Mode" to the first obstacle course! This will make things much easier for those that had a difficulty here. Hope this helps and thanks again for the feedback! <3

Thank you! What a joy it is to have devs who listen to their community and respond.

I'd love to get an update on how "light" the platforming is now - there's a very recent review saying "Parkour without checkpoints. it is impossible to skip", is that true?

Hey there! The platforming is still quite light for the required content in the game.

Unfortunately that review is pretty misleading... There is a rrquired section where you have to complete a small obstacle course (platforming challenge) but it has checkpoints and there's also an easy mode for it for those that don't do well with precision platforming :) Hope this helps!

I'd really like to hear this from someone who actually struggles with platforming like I do, because I've tried to play games that had what others called "very light" platforming and I found it very frustrating XD

How frequent are those checkpoints, for one thing? Is there any chance of having to repeat a series of jumps over and over again? Are there moving platforms in easy mode? Can I get a feeling for the level of platforming during the first 2 hours so I can refund the game if it's too much for me?

No worries! You'll get a feel for it within the first 2 hours or so. So you can still refund it if you feel it's too much!

One thing to note is Smushi has hooks that let you latch onto terrain and objects. This plays a big part in most of the platforming, so the hooks are there to help you make jumps a bit easier for some things. Also the leaf glider is there to help as well!

And to answer your checkpoint question for the obstacle course challenge: they're quite frequent as you'll have a checkpoint for each lil' room that's in the obstacle course :) There are a few moving platforms in the "easy" mode that are pretty slow and large so it's much easier to land on them. This whole obstacle course challenge takes away your glider and climbing hooks, so it's just pure platforming but again it's made to be quite easy with the "easy mode" enabled. I haven't had any complaints on beating the course with easy mode enabled and most people who play Smushi don't really play a platformer games :D

Just note that the obstacle course is the only thing that has these "checkpoints". So if you fall in other areas of the game, you'd have to climb your way back up. But I haven't had any complaints on the difficulty of these other areas since it's designed to be very light and simple with the help of your climbing hooks and glider :) Hope this helps!
