How do I take off a cosmetic?

I bought some shades and put on my character, but wanted to take them off and can't seem to do so. The dress up menu starts blank, yet doesn't seem to recognize blank.

Just select a eye cosmetic that's locked. I think that's how I fixed it

Pretty sure it's only the sunglasses that do it by the way
