Their AI needs tweaks cause it just feels annoying
I keep making noise to try and lure them and see if that changes their pattern a bit. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Died once because it kept failing and Ms. Bo wouldn't get out of my way. I did lure, but then she just went right back to camping.
That..doesnt help as it requires BEATING the game to get gems...
This sometimes requires risking making the noise and getting into the hiding place quickly because if it takes them too long to reach it, they'll lose interest, so doing it again when they're close is often needed.
In the main hall, I frequently use the piano to lure them in. Just spam it until you hear them enter the room. I try to bunch them together and then, once they're together, I call them one more time and then move around them as they walk over to the piano, knowing they can't be anywhere else. Depending on where they are, though, this can take a fair bit of time.
Finding the six medallions is handy, especially if you pick an easy to reach one as the sixth one and don't grab it until you need it. Having the special that does this at the start basically gives you two shots of turning them into toys, but I prefer just using the medallions since I have more control over when I want to use it.
Despite all this, I do admit, there is a fair degree of luck involved and some times, despite your best efforts, campers are gonna camp. Sometimes it pays to just wander off somewhere else for awhile and hope they shuffle around. And sometimes you just gotta take risks. No perfect solution really, but luring with noise does make their behavior a bit more predictable.
