Smack Studio

Smack Studio

Using the character editor instead of Spriter or Spine
I'm an Indie Game Dev and I use Gamemaker Studio2, and for animations, I'd been using Spine and Spriter. One thing they both lack was 3d techniques that your package uses. I tested it out this morning by importing a character into Aesprite then I exported it as individual png images. Imported it into Gamemaker then as a sprite. Changed the length of the animation in Gamemaker as I don't require 60 frames for animation and it worked flawlessly.

I really think that as a side project you should release this character editor as an animation package in itself (and command a higher price than what you are asking for). Im gonna use it for some really cool animations in a future project.

I will say, thanks for this software, and well done guys.. I love the character design and exporting.. amazing!!!

Hey Jonni, it's awesome that you're finding a use for the animation tools outside Smack Studio- we love to hear that!

We'll definitely consider a standalone version in the future, but for now we hope that more artists are able to find us here. It can take a while for word of mouth to spread news about new tools for artists!
