As for what you're doing, did you take over a team? What are you trying to do? The more specific you are, the better I can answer. You are limited on some control (for instance, setting lineups) when you choose to be GM only.
There's different ways to do many things. I would suggest checking out our YouTube page; https://www.youtube.com/c/OOTPDevelopments/playlists - and watching either our Jets or Canucks stream games to get an idea. We also stream every Wednesday at 10pm Eastern. You can also come to our official website and ask questions, or be specific here and I'll do my best to answer any questions you have here.
Yea I know i read all of that Gm only/ Head-coach & GM as well. Only in commissioner you allow too take over a team. i tried to do that and it seemliness not working on my end. Pierre D is still the GM. rather i'm not even controlling Pierre D.
Okay, thanks for the information. I'll pass it on and see if we can see what link is not working there. In the meantime, you can click on MANUAL at the bottom of the game to see the Manual and get a lot of good information.
As for the other, can you explain to me what you're doing?
So there's several ways to take over a team. You can do so when you first boot up the game, selecting them from the beginning. You can also choose to be a Current GM, but most usually choose to create their own. If you decide to go in the game without a job, when it loads in, you should have 3 offers in your inbox from a variety of leagues. If you choose to take a job, great. If not, it may be a while of simming before you get another offer. If you go by the day, you also can't accept it because the team will have moved onto other options.
The last way is take over a team. This can only be done if you're in Commissioner Mode (Manager > Options). Go to the Manager tab, click Take Over Team and scroll to find the team. When you have done so, Right click (or if you're on Mac, CMD and click) and you'll see a pop up for take over team.
Ah okay, see, that's different. Historical is significantly harder to get a job on the market. If you started yourself with no reputation you'll likely never get offered a job without taking one over. At most in historical in FHM8, there is 31 jobs. In the time period you're talking about? Just over 22-28 teams. That means you would have to be better than ALL of those coaches who are rated with their abilities, as well as all of the historical coaches who are in the database as well.
It's possible you may get one, but it's not a high probability. If you're wanting to work your way up, playing current seasons or creating a fictional world will be significantly better for your experience.
