can't place grain during the ritual

I saw someone had this same issue with the demo, but i'm encountering it in the full game as well; when i approach the brazier it doesn't let me place grain
is there a way to fix this/reset this?

you need to put the cones into the tree all at once and then take them away.
At what stage exactly do you have a problem?

it was right at the beginning, after placi8ng the honeycombs
looks like it was just glitched. the old witch was standing on a brazier so it didn't tell me to place the grain (I guess stuck)
After saving and quitting it reset to before the ritual so it's fine now
