What happens if I don't replant trees

I'm curious about that. Does the game gives you some kind of penalty if you chop down trees and you don't have enough infused pine cones to replant them?

I planted all 20 that I had, but I've gathered an insane amount of wood since then. Entire house built plus about 1000 in storage. I was expecting the ravens to stop picking up after a certain point, or to get some sort of warning, but nothing has happened.

If this game had enemies I thought not replanting would spawn hostile tree spirits or something but at this point I doubt this game has a combat system.

Nothing as of the moment. But, later on they're going to add the mechanic in.

This game by the looks of things is *very* early access. like, probably just got out of internal alpha testing early access. So, good news is, every update is probably gonna bring a bunch of content. Bad news is, it's current content is not that expansive
