A wishlist
The game is GREAT with huge potential and I’m super excited to see where it goes.

FEATURES
- MULTIPLE SAVE SLOTS PER GAME. I abandoned my first witch when I realized that saving the lumberjacks locked me out of getting the leshy tapestry and antler headdress. The game is all about cosmetics, so locking certain cosmetics behind binary choices feels awful. If multiple save slots isn’t possible, then there could eventually be a way of obtaining the cosmetics we missed, post-story.
- DIFFERENT BIOMES. The maps all start to feel the same. Adding just a couple of alternate map types would make exploring — and moving to a new map — MUCH more interesting. Simply mixing up the color palette would help a lot. The autumnal orange is gorgeous, but I’d love to see some gloomy blue and green.
- By that same token, WEATHER. Perhaps certain spells or recipes can only be done under certain weather conditions. Perhaps there could be rituals to change the weather; perhaps we could get quests to do these rituals.
- I’m assuming there will be much more side quest variety in the future. I particularly hope that the quests aren’t so village-centric and that we can reliably get quests from nonhuman sources. Currently, when I arrive at a new map I always beeline for the village and I would love an incentive to mix this up.
- A karma system: good vs evil, and/or humanity vs nature. Quests that are only available to witches with extreme karma might give unique cosmetic awards.
- Some way to scrap or sell unused furniture. How many beds does one witch need?
- Potion-making! I can see both an alchemy set and a cauldron. I can see villagers requesting potions the way they currently request food.
- Gardening! Both in pots/plots and in window boxes
- Beekeeping?
- Milk from goats?
- I desperately want my cat to curl up on my lap when I sit down

UI and QOL
- Cutting down trees should have its own dedicated button so I don’t accidentally cut down a forest when I’m trying to gather mushrooms. Considering how much narrative weight is put on only taking as much wood as we need, this feels REALLY bad.
- The cursor feels very inconsistent in its aim. I don’t want to accidentally throw a larch cone when I’m trying to talk to someone. When I’m moving a wall hanging, I don’t want to accidentally select the log pile on the other side of the wall behind it. I often can’t tell what I’m looking at. Perhaps a subtle highlight on whatever the cursor is aimed at?
- As an extension of this: can we have a separate prompt (“light/extinguish”) for light sources? If I have a candle sitting in a window, it’s currently a guessing game to try and open the window without accidentally snuffing the candle.
- Not sure if this is a bug, but placing large wall hangings (especially the leshy/lumberjack tapestry) is extremely finicky. Even on a wall that’s clearly large enough, the hanging won’t reliably place. I wonder if the gaps between planks are messing up its perception of what a wall is.
- As more ingredients and recipes are added to the game, we’re going to NEED more inventory slots. Perhaps a separate tab for non-edibles?
- Currently, the “items and storage” build tab displays every food item KNOWN. It’s bloated and confusing. I don’t need an unselectable button for placing imaginary cake. Perhaps a toggle between "known" and "in inventory?"

ARCHITECTURE
- COLORS. Differently-colored doors, windows, and shutters. I would love to be able to paint the walls!
- Different styles or at least colors/textures for the stove and chimney. Stone, brick, brass, iron?
- Different styles of railings and beams. Natural wood? Carvings?
- More roof pieces: peaks, concave corners, and different heights
- I don’t think it’s possible to have enough window (and door) styles. Big windows, bay windows, round windows, stained-glass windows…

OBJECTS
- If the gravekeeper girl gets a crow aviary, dammit, we should too. “Pet” crows, perches, birdcages...
- Curtains! Not just for windows; large ceiling-mounted curtains could be used to separate rooms
- Rocking chairs, squashy stuffed armchairs, footstools
- More rugs (round rugs!)
- More small tables (small round tables!) in colors other than blue
- More chandeliers
- More cutlery, glassware, silverware
- Teapots and teacups
- I don’t think it’s possible to have enough cut flowers or potted plants
- I don’t think it’s possible to have enough paintings. (At this point I have so many duplicate cabbage paintings that I’m considering building a Cabbage Shrine)

If you’re still here, thanks for reading!

Agreed on most of those, especially those that I have encountered.

Yes to all this. I'd also like to fish (we're given fishing knives/nets too)

YES to all of this, YES please :)

Waaaaait...... antler headdress?! <swears> If I ever encounter those lumberjacks again....!
Yes please- don't lock cool cosmetics behind binary choices like that, pretty please.

A very good list whit most of the stuff I also want. But 1 thing I would add is a better way to build your hut. Maybe the possibility to fly with one of your crow around your hut. Since it can be a bit tricky to build a larger and more complex hut. And you can also get a better view how it looks while building.

Not just that, but the beehive keeper also gives you different rewards based on your choice sadly. I hope the devs will make these items obtainable somehow, even if it's after the end of the storyline or something.

I would argue that permanent choices gives the game much-needed replayability. I think if the choices are going to have any meaning, then they *should* give you a reason to carefully consider them. Otherwise I agree with most of the list as well!

I didnt want to bloat the forums with my own list, so here are some things I would add to yours:
- 45* angle beams, half-length beams and walls
- Make the vertical beams a bit thicker so they dont clip with walls
- Railings for balconies, stairways, etc! This is where half-length beams would help, but just having railing options would add so much!
- Large and circular windows
- Window options that are mirrored so that open hatches dont overlap!
- Window boxes with plants for exterior decor
- Roof shapes that are curved upwards/inverted
- Construction-material game progression (go from straw roof to shingles, etc)
- Unlockable mode with your crows that allows you to move freely while in build mode

I am a huge base builder in games. The more options, the better. I dont even care if theyre in DLC packs, I will support the heck outta this game if that kind of route is nessesary to push more variety content.

I would LOVE pre-made build templates for the Hut Hut. For people like me who don't normally play crafting games. It would be amazing to have one or some to choose from. To either decorate or use as a base to change/ build off of. I love the design the game has in the trailer; I would gather all the materials in order to build a pre-made hut hut and decorate as i like.

That would be a great option for those of us who just want to move on with the story or - like me - have lost their building inspiration. A couple of ready-made blueprints to choose from so that those who don't feel like building an elaborate house or who simply can't be bothered still will end up with a decently "witchy" looking house instead of just a big box.

id like Fishing

Rituals that we can do like complex spells like the beginning but on our own maybe used for a mission/puzzle to figure out

building needs work atm its finicky on where i can place some things Example i have a table with a chair under it like normal but another chair wont go next to it like its afraid to be next to that chair

random events would be interesting

This list is amazing! And what I was thinking. I also wanted to write a wish list but heck this sums it up. I ... didn't know about the leshy antlers nor the tapestry T_T ..

I would love to see:

- Fishing!
- Ability to cast other spells or I would love to protect my own house with salt.
- Biomes and interesting places. They talk about 'leaving to the city' .. It be amazing to see different size places or cities! Maybe even pretty oceans , large meadows, mountains etc.. Maybe even a 'rare' spawn like a fairy forest! Or ghost land or flower meadows. Something to make us want to explore and trigger these rare places (and maybe set up residence)
- quest markers over the npc heads.. Like a ! when we haven't picked it up. Or a . . . when we got the quest so we can find them later. If we have done the quest before in a diff map, i noticed the dialog is grey in the new town and i can miss it.
- I would like to do more with my goats and collect other animals.
- let me garden pls!!~ What kinda witch doesn't get to plant?
- Better ways to build... or I dunno. Let us float for an allotted time so we can build our roofs better LOL
- .. more.. shoes? I aint sure if my rng is bad but so many clothes!! and ok head things but .. where are my shoes and accessories?
- Ways to get items later on when we didn't know from the first two tutorials!
- Emotes.. sure Im playing by myself but it be nice to sit and admire the scenery (if we get more places to look at)
Zedd Oct 15, 2024 @ 2:53pm
<nod> emotes would be grand- you've done a great job with the current animations so if there's precious dev time to spare for some emotes, I'm sure they'll be top notch.
